BMW M235i Racing + Vallelunga - Will you be able to pinpoint it through the hairpins?
Fasten your seat-belts and be careful with the right foot - this car likes it sideways!

Wait? What is this?
For this event you need absolutely nothing special. A copy of Assetto Corsa, keyboard, console controller, or steering wheel it's all fine. Today we are going to focus on getting you on the online track (for the first time) and giving you a great experience and making you a better driver.

Make sure to be on time for the extended practice session and have teamspeak installed and be with us for the full length of the event. This is the longest session of almost an hour to get familiar with the car and the track. That's right, you don't need to practice offline first. You can come by fully unprepared

After practice we move to qualification to decide the racing order and do a short fun race of only 30 minutes so everybody can return to their wives, girlfriends, mom in time.

Who can join?
All premium members using their full Real Name in the forum, race servers and teamspeak can sign up for this event and we have unlimited slots available so make sure to bring a friend. Sign up below and make sure to tag fellow community members who you think are up for a challenge!

A message to all Drivers
If you run off track, you have to check and see that its clear before you re-enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.
When entering the track from the pits stay off the racing line until you are up to speed and do not race on your out lap. Let other drivers by in qualifying.
On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car. Remember, you've made the mistake by going off so let them by cleanly.

Golden Rule
  1. Be 100% sure it's not your fault and just carry on like nothing happened and take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Play on the safe side and wait for the affected drivers, knowing 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a complete lift of the gas please if it is safe to do so.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in teamspeak. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

Sign me up please

PS: I think this event needs made sticky ;)

And this is the thread I thought I was in when I posted this remark ;)
...here's the usual reminder about this car being a low-revving beast - the power curve shown in the launcher is wrong and so you should fetch the updated JSON file from this thread if you use Sidekick for optimal gear shifts. Makes a difference to both your speed and fuel consumption, from what I can see.

I agree that this track isn't awesome with slow and heavy cars in general but with the BMW 235i it's fun for me.
You can nicely drift out of the corners and brake deep into the hairpins. I hope for some nice side-by-side corner exit drifting and an intense battle on the long straights :)

Well feel free to get sideways, makes it easier for the rest to get ahead :p

Possibly, just on thread, tl;dr  :p

I went to Vallelunga as an apprentice mechanic 40+ years ago, our cars were 2ltr sports cars which, compared to these days aren't so nimble;) The drivers used to rave about:
- the multiple lines you could use in traffic or/and dicing with others.
- being careful not to scrub speed off on the gentle curves (main 'straight') down to 1st corner (and having tried the BMW today, I think it's true even in this car).
- uphill double right hander absolutely crucial for setting up a pass/not getting passed on following straight.
- home for 'king of the late brakers'
Edited: for long waffle!

I really love this track, and strangely I’ve only driven it in lower powered cars like the M235i, MX-5 Cup and TT Cup. Its a good one for trying to keep the speed up and scrub off the bare minimum to get around a corner! I probably have a preference for the shorter track layout mind as I love going flat out through that right/left section over the crest :)

I would like to be added to the fray. Just as a heads up I'm here for the first time and kinda cheated with some practice racing after finally getting the track.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong place. Should have been in the US thread.
