Our next Rally is open for sign-up.

This Rally has been designed by our intrepid RDRC Video voice man, Roy Magnes. Roy has had many close finishes on the podium recently but just hasn't quite been able to return to the top step. So Roy is looking for revenge, and has searched the car pool for a suitable car in the hope of emulating his first Rally Club win (in a Mk1 Escort). So, no surprise, he found another RWD, the old Toyota Celica TA22.

For this Rally, we run all gravel stages, across a variety of countries. These Stages vary quite a lot in terms of tightness and speed, so it will be a challenging run in this car. The weather is mostly fine, the car will pose the main challenge.
We have also returned to Reduced damage for this Rally, we are expecting this car to take a bit of a beating, especially if you don't test it before hand.

DRIVER BRIEFING NOTES:

1. This car is typical RWD, and has some tricky habits. It's handling is quite "lively" under full power, so you will need to be careful with the right foot to minimise the tank slappers. It is recommended that drivers run at least a brief test session to familiarise themselves with this one.

2. RBR Pacenotes are designed for default cars, Normal conditions and Good weather. Please remember to adjust your speeds to suit these cars.

3. Tyre selections are the drivers responsibility. If you use the automatic tyre selection option in RSRBR2011, please beware that sometimes it may give you the wrong tyre for the conditions. Always double check your tyres, it is critical.

If requests are made for any additional timezones, or changes to Start times to better suit your local needs, we will try to include them ( but within the Monday/Tuesday periods).

In addition, we have the added bonus for the Rally winner, choosing the details for the nominated Club Rally on 11th & 12th June 2012. (as per the proposal submitted by Fernando Agapito).

Special thanks to Roy for planning this one. Are we all going to take it easy on him to give him another victory?

Good luck all, no doubt you will be sliding the tail around in this Rally.

Just to give Roy a helping hand, I found this one for him to drive :p :

Well, my initial plan with this car was scrapped due to it being even more unsuitable than I first thought on my original plan :p Had to create something new instead, so it will propably not be any revenge for me on this rally in the end... But boy oh boy will we have fun instead ;)

Roy Magnes - Roy Magnes - EUX

edit: oooh, my first win was with the Escort MKII, not the MKI :)

Got early back to home today so I might actually do this one. I`ll go for EUX, most probably.

Viesturs Priede - Viesturs - EUX

OK, I wont, my RBR is screwed up and I doubt I`ll make it work today.

Have fun :)

Interesting one that one.

SS1 - had a decent run, no problems at all and I think I was fastest by 4 seconds.
SS2 - same again, only lost 2 seconds to the stage winner.
SS3 - strange one. I got sideways coming off one of the bridges, the car stalled but then I wasn't allowed to restart the engine. I eventually had to call for help which meant the engine was running. I only lost ten seconds to Fernando despite this.
SS4 - exactly the same as the previous stage, ( sideways, stall ) only this time I lost 48 seconds to Fernando. hmmmmmm.........
SS5 - quickest by 7
SS6 - quickest by 14
SS7 - Quickest again and noticed that Fernando had retired. That put me back into the server lead
SS8 - again quickest.

I went into the standard RBR game afterwards and discovered that the game had lost my control settings for the ignition and changing view. I guess thats why I couldn't restart the engine those 2 times. I'm glad I discovered it now rather than during next weeks RDRC round. Overall I'm happy with my pace ( fastest on 5 of the 8 stages in server ), especially as I was able to trade times with Fernando who usually kicks my ass. Don't imagine I'll win the event because of those two stages with the stalling problem. Good luck to everyone else still to compete, the Celica is really fun to drive.
