Rally - Historic Aussie Shootout - Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th March 2012

Two retirements in a row, on SS4 and 5, gave up.

Up until that point, was okay. I was happy with how I was driving, but not so happy with my times.
Two difficult stages, scratch free, I'm turning a new leaf. Shame the times were ****.

that was efin awesome, most fun i've had with my cloths on for ages :D

Took the MK5 Escort default set up no practice, best way to wind down after a stressful few days.

Finished all stages, 1 cfh, many 360`s, but bags of fum :D:D:D

Manythanks to Warren, superb event. want MORE

Congratulations Fernando, two Club wins in a row, great stuff. Impressive times in a tricky car too.
Well done to Jeff, yet again on the podium, you must love the champaign. ;)

The Escorts seemed pretty dominant in the top 10, they are certainly quick but need a lot of skill (and luck) to keep them on the track.
Fernando dominated the Stage wins but good to see Dubravko and Magnar stealing a couple.

Welcome to our new members, Sion and Andrew, both in the top 10 through controlled/consistent driving. Well done, this Rally was certainly not easy.

An aweful lot of red ink scattered through the results, but not surprising considering the cars and realistic damage, it was quite a test of patience. This car needed a veeeery steady right foot.

Thanks to all who joined, hope you had some fun.
Huge thanks to Senad, our Admin rock, and Damien, our talented Bannerman.

Now Fernando, you get to choose the Rally details for the Club Rally 2nd /3rd April. No wonder you came up with this idea. :p
Let me know asap so we can organise things.

I have no idea what to serve up next week yet, need to investigate (and install) Update 03.

Your times for SS02 and SS03 were quite good Senad, you are too hard on yourself. Repeat those times consistently, and complete all stages, and you are almost on the podium every week. ;)

I was expecting a very close battle with the podium finishers of the last 4WD rally but seems that they all had a very unfortunate event on this rally, but It's a very tricky car indeed and I almost went off the road on most of the stages, good thing the escort is a very good car.

Congrats Warren and Jeff!, and see you all on my Rally Challenge on April 2-3 :D

Thanks all.

I'm becoming a bit wary of using new cars immediately lately, since they often seem to need updates after the initial release eg. MINI's, VW Polo etc.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I might wait a few weeks to see how that one "settles down".

I have had a thought about using a FWD car next week to give the opposite experience to the RWD beasts we used in this rally.
Maybe one for the Italians out there? ;)

Well, I'm far from happy with how this went. Driving a RWD car in the 2WD cup. Loving the BMW, and really liking the car on gravel I thought that I could've had a good chance for a win. However, without the two retirements I'd been 3rd at best. Far far away from what I had expected. Just wanna forget this now.

Overall Rally Results
Congrats Fernando, Warren and Jeff

Stage wins:
Fernando Agapito: 5 stage wins
Dubravko Šparovec: 2 stage wins, with Jeremy only 0.02 seconds slower on SS3 :D
Magnar Haarstadsveen: 1 stage win

Thanks to everyone who joined, and thanks to Warren for setting it up.

Please let me know if you notice any mistakes.

Hi Senad, I noticed that my first stage was a default time? But I finished it with a 4:25. Im not sure what I did, but the time did not come through? I did not do anything different for the other stages, but they came through fine? Can the first stage be corrected?

See my screen grab attached.

Ah!! The dreaded "In Progress" due to results not sending to the Server. We had a lot of that in last week's RDRC Round 1.
Thanks for the back up info, we can fix the results and put your correct time in for SS01.
Might have to wait for Senad to show up and do it, but by my calculations, that will lift you to P7. A great result with the Volvo. ;)
