RaceRoom | Introducing the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport

Sector3 Studios have revealed the second car from the upcoming 'Porsche DLC 3' for the studio, and it's a rather special one indeed...

That's right, after the moderately exciting news of the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport as the first announcement from the pack, today we get sight of car #2 for the first time - and it is the brand new 911 GT2 RS Clubsport!

Taking the honour of having the very first version of this brand new car in a sim racing title, Sector3 Studios have pulled off quite the coup by securing this exciting new machine, and with 700hp with little in the way of excess weight, it should be an absolute riot to drive once it finally hits the public build of the simulation.

Interestingly this is the first of the new SRO sanctioned GT2 specification cars to come to RaceRoom Racing Experience, and it will be interesting to see if Sector3 Studios have an appetite to bring more of this exciting class of racing into the sim as further manufacturers become involved in the category going forward.

Already we have seen the lovely Audi R8 LMS GT4 from the new category, perhaps that could be another future project from the developers... here's hoping!

RaceRoom Racing Experience is a PC exclusive racing simulation, available now.

well i bet the last one its the 911 rsr gte
I see a lot of people saying this, but what is it going to race against? There aren't any other GTEs in RR. Not really an even match with GT2s. RSR GTE is my favorite car but unless they are adding a whole GTE class I don't see how it makes any sense.

The GT2 class used to be Corvette only, so it's not unheard of.

Itself? Having complete real-life series is nice, but hardly mandatory. There are plenty of single-model series out there both in sims and in real life... and they often enjoy the closest, driver-based racing.

GT2s arr racing in the same class as GT3's in endurance races.
Slower in the corners but faster on the straights than GT3's.
These cars are mainly made for gentlemen driver teams.

its possible I guess, but to me only makes sense when that car runs irl in a single make series, Porsche Cup, Lambo ST..etc
