Practice

I joined the server 90 minutes or so before practice started and started to apply my very limited setup knowledge to get somewhere decent with the Toledo - I managed to get myself up to the mid 1:48 range, P2 behind Henrik. I managed to get the setup such that I was super confident on the brakes, which would prove to be very useful indeed later on.

Qualification
I maintained a similar pace during qualy but I didn't get as many clean laps as I would've liked to, so, with a few others improving, I slotted into P5 for the start.

Race 1
I got a decent enough start and stayed out of trouble, and then with my car feeling particularly good under braking, I was able to pick a couple of people off, most notably James who was pretty much wedged behind me until lap 10. I had a short battle with Gary, who had seriously overcooked his tyres such that he was dropping through the field like a stone, and ended up crossing the line in P3.

Race 2

I got a slightly slow getaway from the grid and had a number of BMWs to contend with, but I managed to again stay out of trouble, despite the intensity of it all, with huge trains of cars heading towards heavy braking zones. Unfortunately, I caught myself out behind one of the Simpson chaps, Eck I believe, and tapped his rear right quarter panel causing him to spin. I continued along to the straight and crawled along the pit wall to allow him back past, but amusingly I didn't actually spot him amongst the crowd and ended up just about last. I had a couple of great (and clean) fights with a huge number of people, eventually claiming 11 places to finish in P9 - one lap or so short of being able to catch Roy in front.

Some particularly good driving on display in this one, particularly James who in Race 1 I saw constantly trying to keep the back end of his almost catastrophically oversteering E46 in check in my mirror, and everyone did really well on the awareness front too. :)

I qualified in 3rd position, with a time of 1.48.4.

First race:
I was 4 sec behind henrik after the 3rd corner of the 2nd lap, because of a little accident.
I could close the gap, and in lap 7 or 8 Henrik made a little mistake, and I could pass him, finishing 1st with a gap of 6 sec.

second race:
Had a bad start, but made it to p7 after first corner.
had some really nice battles, especially with henrik at the end, finishing about 0.05 sec behind henrik in 3rd position
Congratulations to the winner of the second race.

Thanks everyone for the nice races.
Really amazing how fair everyone races!
See you all next time

ueber-noob

started training in Shahrapov's e46, what a joke i'll be. I've played Race and Race07 for two years and never touched the rear wheel drive cars (xcept for the formula BMW). Now I know why :)
Just trying to keep 'er on the road is tricky enough. LOL I'll be 10 secs off pace. Atm trying to get below 2:10 ...
Basically, everything that works fine for the Chevy does not work for the Beemer, have to relearn from scratch.
The "L" on the FD skin will be fitting, try to stay well away from me (which won't be difficult after lap1 hehe).
