Slightly Mad Studios have confirmed that their upcoming Project CARS 3 racing title will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC from this August 28th - with an enviable number of cars set to form part of the default game offering.

The proposed change in direction for the third instalment of the Project CARS franchise has certainly split opinion within the sim racing community, with some disappointed about the apparent move to a more inclusive gaming experience, whilst others and intrigued to see what SMS have in store when the game finally hits the virtual shelves later this year.

Rather than confirming a massive amount of information about the title from the off, Slightly Mad Studios have rather taken a steady approach of dripping information out to the public via social media in recent weeks - and the latest bit of information we've had concerns release date - beginning this August 28th!

Furthermore, the new title is expected to come with a bumper amount of content at launch, upping the ante from the last release within the franchise as over 200 upgradeable road and race machines will be playable on 140 different circuit configurations - not bad at all!

Project CARS 3 is set to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC August 28th 2020.

True, but the amount of tweaking and handling quirks it has already taken during Beta/EA.... for very limited number of cars. And don't think the work is finished, for some cars.

Then, take into account the skill of Reiza with physics, coming from GSCE and AMS1 (mostly re-doing the same familiar, limited cars)... compared to Ian Bell & co trying to do 200+ cars (with handling-affecting upgrades?)

140+ track configs sounds like each will have perfectly tuned AI again
Evil Bold will show again what he is...
Simcaderers will love it, hardcores will dismiss it.
It‘s all so boring around here...

You save me so much time Paul. I dont know why I keep searching for news on GTR3 because it'll be right here on my favourite news website as soon as it exists! Thank you.
Exactly. Been waiting for GTR3 for more than a decade. Soo much goods in GTR2 just to continue on, but apparently SMS chose the beaten path from there...(oh yes they made $$$ with NFS Shift and so on, but...).
Played PC2 again in start of Covid-19 hitting, but had GTR2 in my mind playing, just soo much more fun with all the mods, and simfeeling like ACC.

But again, I'll give PC3 a chance :)

200 cars, 140 tracks, all in as good as it gets VR with great graphics for August 8th sounds good to me, duly noted.
They need this much to appease the Donut Media/Drivetripe/Car Throttle subbing daydreaming prepubscent ****wits - that's who SMS is aiming this game at - they know pretty graphics and lying to people about realistic physics sell better than super realistic physics - look at PC2 vs rF2 sales as an example - and look at the YouTubers who play this game, most of their audiences are barely old enough to legally drive

...because they know gamers are a vapid bunch - I used to be guilty for thinking Auto Modellista was a great game because it had anime style cel-shading, great JDM cars and tuning options

Yeah I do + season pass too. One reason I have no interest for pCars 3. I have plenty to drive

AMS2 will probably never have as many tracks/cars as this, even after season pass DLC. But quality > quantity
I returned AMS2. Have they made a lot of changes? I played about 2 weeks ago, but I am open to revisiting. I tried to play as many cars and tracks as I could within the return period, and found most of the cars all seemed like they were on ice with almost no feeling of the road. There was one exception, and I wish I could remember the car. It was awesome, and I almost kept the game for that one car. Also, the FFB did not feel very good to me. The car choices were not to my liking for the most part. IMO Reiza needs about 6 more months before they should release the game out of Early Access. I am guessing I will try it again at some point when the game is a little more mature. I will definitely be getting before I get PC3 if this is what they are doing to the game.

Excited and not excited.

The main issue with PC2 was the infinite roster of cars. There were some sick cars there and many not so great driving cars, which diminished the sim image.

maybe the same format they’re planning with 30% of those cars, but well made cars, would be awesome.

So much saltiness for a game people have never played or will even ever try. A little pathetic to read:roflmao:

That being said, I'll wait for the reviews. The content in pc2 was great but after not playing for a while and playing ACC and rf2 mostly going back to pc2 the gt3's feel off. Hopefully those are improved for pc3

I usually dont get any new games on first release and will wait to see what our great reviewers have to say when the game get released or if they get an early copy of the game. I like that the game has VR support. I assume for the PC it will be sold on STEAM? I haven't heard a word about who will provide the game.
