Haven't tried this combo out yet but I can't help feel that the Fezza will wee-wee all over the Alpine. However the Renault is great for cornering so may gain an advantage through the twisty's. Looking forward to testing these out.

EDIT: Hmmm closer than I thought, nice one admins

Yes there is a very strict first corner
Just a little warning about this track. In turn 1 it is very easy to get a cut warning. I got a cut in this picture, but you you don't even have to be that close. So do yourself a favour and leave a bit extra space to the kerb and avoid any penalty in the race.

If you look at our last league RDHCS10 we had a great selection of cars on certain tracks and apart from the aliens:alien: doing super human things. I was within a second with most cars.. never got fully to grips with the shelby over race distance :(

So finding the right tracks can really bring cars close together. Come back Stuart and Knut soon we need your magic :)

What a evening, I had such a blast and not only because of where I finished!
So here's my story;

First race was with the Alpine for me, I had a wee bit of practice yesterday and I instantly liked this car, so much fun to drive and so forgiving.
Q1: Qualy went very well for me, I beat my previous best lap with almost a second and snagged pole position for the first time in my "career"! Granted Rupe was not running his lap and starting from the back, but I still am very very happy with my achievement, merely because I kept my calm and put in a good lap when it mattered!

R1: Got off to a pretty good start and meanwhile behind me there where a lot happening in the two first corners, so I pulled out a 10+ second gap on the next guy during the first half of the first lap, managed to maintain that for a couple of laps but then cut a curb a little too much and spun. Managed to get going without loosing the lead but the gap was now getting smaller and I finally got caught up by Rupe who had blown past the rest of the field. He kept pushing me for a couple of laps and finally I made a mistake that let him pass me, but he gave me the position back straight away. Continued to fight with Rupe for most of the remainder of the race, and lost it in the last couple of corners, he passed me for the win. He tried to give it to me but I would not have it, I wanna win fair and square ;)

Q2: In the Ferrari now, I didn't like this car much, too heavy, too bulky, not agile enough. My times during practice was dead on with the middle of the pack, and I expected to not be very competitive. Made a booboo on my hotlap which put me on 4th on the grid (iirc), Rupe not running again (plus he sandbagged with fuel that git :p).

R2: Had a pretty poor start and then all of a sudden I saw Denis car approaching REALLY FAST (as in he was standing still, but just seemingly due to lag). Jerked out of the way and hit another car but it didn't seem to hurt him any, thankfully. After passing a couple of people in T1 and T2 I now where 2nd behind Hans. Caught up with him and we started batteling. We both made mistakes on occasions letting the other by, but we had some good clean and honest racing there, a lot of fun! In the end Hans made a few mistakes I suspect because he started falling behind me, I concidered easing off to have a battle to the last corner but chose not to, I felt like taking this victory, my first ever in online racing across all games.
If the situation ever comes up again I'll gladly choose the battle over the victory, but not this time :p

Thanks everybody for a great race, I loved the Alpine, I started disliking the Ferrari much less at the end, the track is good and the company I had on track and on TeamSpeak was as always with GTL Clubs, great!

Edit: To anyone not joining tonight, you missed out, cracking combo!

I also had great fun in both races,
Race 1 didnt qually so started form the rear and waited for a lap or so before i started to push as i got by a few guys Kjell was way in the lead so just kept it steady, yes i caught him up due to his spin but apart from that we were close enough in lap times to make the pass hard.. so had some gone fun following him, im also learning my race craft at the same time so it still good for all. No point racing on your own...
Race 2 same again did not qually and started from the rear. Time to take it easy still very sore from my op.. so i was trying not to do to much .
Waited for guys who got bad starts and spun we all had good fun right through the race i think we all learned a good bit through the race in how the cars handled differently to each other..
tried to give a few pointers after the race as i could see where the mistakes were happening.. just trying to get consistent laps im not the fastest guy but do nice consistent laps with few mistakes.. this way we can race full distance all close in lap times and have good fun, the speed will come later...
its a great track with cars that suite it..

We will get there guys, ive seen big improvements recently in how people approach there racing and drive, lets make the journey together and learn from one another

Thanks to everyone for turning up last night. Had only about 30 minutes of practice the night before so was very scratchy and all over the place. Also, not at all used to these type of cars

Was finally getting the hang of it at the end and my PB was 2 seconds faster in Race 2 than Race 1. I felt that in Race 1 that I was trying a bit too much and Race 2, I was just trying to be smooth and consistent (where have I heard those words before???) but it really does help and make you go faster

Much like Kjell. Did not like the Ferrari but was getting used to it and starting to like it :)

That ends a great week in GTL racing!!
