Club Racing Rules

As you may of seen in the latest club race for Knut Omdal Tveito 4/07/ 2013
we have left out of the some of the Note's:

The Club post was starting to look messy with all the extra points. I kept adding to them and this may have caused confusion in the events as to what is ok or used.
Below you will find a set of rules, these are the rules we use for all club races. Any new driver will be pointed to these rules and tips on what we expect from a club driver taking part in GTL events,

  1. General RD rules that you agreed to when you applied for your licence
GT Legends Gentleman Drivers Rules:

Qualification:
  1. Superpole consists of an Out lap and a Fast lap and then you press escape. You will NOT drive an In lap. Once you have pressed escape you are NOT allowed to drive again until the race starts.
  2. On your out lap there will be NO overtaking of cars that are leaving the pits or out on track. In the warm up lap you will leave a gap of about 5 seconds to the car in front. All cars will slow behind you to maintain this gap.
  3. If you crash on your out lap you MUST wait for a space to rejoin the track, you have lost the right to that position.
  4. If on your qualifying lap you are caught by a car behind you WILL let them pass you. You are NOT to race with other cars in a qualifying session.
  5. If you crash on your qualifying lap you MUST look to make sure it is safe to rejoin the track, (then see rule 4).
  6. You only get ONE attempt at a superpole. If you crash your car and can't continue press escape. You don't get a second chance.
  7. Any track that has a finish line close to a corner can be driven flat out at the end of a qualifying run. This can be superpole or a full qualifying session. As you press escape after you cross the line this will have no effect on other cars.
Race:
  1. On the first few corners of a race you MUST be careful going into the corners there is to be no weaving under breaking the track will be driven correctly. Inside line means you have to leave room on the exit for the driver on the outside and the driver on the outside can't shut the door to the apex. You must leave room for the car on the inside.
  2. Only when you have a good car length to the following car can you take the full racing line.
  3. Sticking your car into gaps that don't exist will be frowned upon. Dive-bombing or last of the late breakers is also NOT allowed.
  4. If you are involved in an accident DO NOT leave your car on the racing line, find a safe place to pullover and wait for the other party to get going and . .You must wait for a large enough gap in the traffic so it is safe to restart. Upon rejoining until you are up to race speed keep off the racing line.
  5. you are NOT allowed to tap the rear of cars going into corners and then make a pass. You must wait until then next straight before you can attempt to pass without contact.
  6. NO advantages are to be gained to the driver in front when overtaking lapped traffic.
  7. The driver who is about to be lapped will still drive his race and help the lapping car by letting of the gas once the driver makes his move to overtake. (you do not need to drive of track, just hold your line). You are NOT allowed to race with the car that laps you. If he goes off track later you will keep driving your race and let him by again when he has caught you up.
  8. On any track where the finish line is close to the next corner you can drive this flat out over the line on the last lap, no need to lift, just press escape after you cross the line.
  9. There will be NO more crashing of cars after the race has finished, you can either press escape or drive your in lap,
  10. Follow all safety rules as if you were in a real car on a real track; use the pit speed limiter in pit lane, observe all safety flags and lights, no donuts in the pit lane or on the track, no deliberate distraction of other drivers, etc.

Teamspeak and chat:
  1. In practice you can chat all you want but once we start qualifying there is to be no chat (exception to the rule - staff may need to say something race related).
  2. During the race there will be NO text chat.
  3. During the race only race related talk on Teamspeak is permitted, please adjust your microphones or use push to talk, I don't want to hear sniffing, coughing, belching, or any rant about other drivers or your own mistakes.
  4. After the race is over you can chat again once all the cars have crossed the line.
  5. There is to be no post race finger pointing. You can chat or ask what happened but NO pointing the blame at any driver.
  6. Staff have the right to chat or text at any point in the session to inform drivers of something race related.
Incidents:
  1. Try and discuss any incidents with the other drivers involved after the race in a friendly manner. If you feel stressed out by an accident then take 24 hours to calm down, review the replays of the incident and resolve it in a mature way via PM. Do not make angry posts about it on the forum. If you cannot resolve the problem then please contact the staff member that organized your race via PM, sending them an incident report that includes a video that clearly shows the incident.
General Rules:
  1. Real names will be used on a RD server and T/speak at ALL times (you can ask for assistance in achieving this).
  2. Do NOT deliberately cut the track. The white (or yellow) lines mark the edge of the road. Do NOT cross them with more than two wheels. If you do this then give a noticeable lift off the gas so that you do not gain an advantage.
  3. Never attempt U-turns on the racing line as you will cause an accident.
  4. New drivers Please try to join a the server with other drivers before the event
to make sure your sim is working correctly.
  5. Be Prepared! Don't leave it until the last minute once we're in official practice, IT'S TO LATE !
Anything different to this will be posted in the rules section in the club post.

Have read it and got it. Will miss our post race celebration/let off of steam with doughnuts and crashes, Will be very pleased to NOT see comments in chat/teamspeak from those who finish while others and I are still racing. Few things more frustrating than being in a close last lap battle and getting distracted by podium finishers starting to congratulate each other in teamspeak and in-game chat. Overall great work @Rupe Wilson

We never used to crash the cars after the race. It just something that started, i have also crashed my car at the end of the race. But as it was brought up in the chat , it was talked about and that it the outcome...
I'm sorry if some of you don't like certain points from the above.
But i think we have tried to cover as many things as we could without ending up with pages of rules..
Common sense should take care of the rest. :)
