AC GT3 @ TT-Assen, Sunday 25th April 2021

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I'm curious seeing if the switch back to the old server system will increase my framerate. On Sundays at SGP I have a much worse framerate than during practice or mid-week events. Last time at Imola @ Aqua Minerale it was really bad.

Are you using the HP Reverb G2?

Unlike my driving:mad:, my PC seemed faultless in VR on Sunday's race.

It does seem strange that it was performing better mid week, with more cars on the grid.

Could it be that the s.gp servers for all communities are very busy on Sunday nights and if so, can that be the cause of our stability problems?

Touch wood, I'm not having any problems. I was offering my system performance as a point of reference for Andreas. Last year (+), when I was having issues with running AC in VR, one of my thought processes was that the problem was down to the server. It wasn't & it proved to be a distraction in finding the source of the problem.

All physics (including collisions) and rendering is done locally on your PC, the server has nothing to do with that whatsoever. I think the job of the server is mostly receiving momentary data snapshots like the car position on the track, acceleration, gear, throttle input, brake lights, etc from all its clients and then sending that data back to everyone so that they know where's everyone and what they are doing. So, the server shouldn't be the source of performance issues.
I also didn't have any such problems on Sunday (and I never do with Kunos' tracks).

As for performing better midweek, that could be due to the difference between having only 2 car models then and a bunch of GT3s on Sunday. I remember having to lower my supersampling ratio when I went from a GT86 server to a GT3 one. I think it's either having more different car models loaded or the models for GT cars have more polygons (wings, diffusers, etc). Or maybe you were driving mostly alone with all TTs far ahead of you and all MX5s behind

yes that would be very strange if the switch to the old system would improve local performance. But the more I know about IT the more I know that there's still a bit of magic involved that nobody can explain

https://accstuff.ru/s/XkuDxu CSP setting for normal race
https://accstuff.ru/s/Ek0Lng CSP for big grid

https://accstuff.ru/s/5W8ufp Normal Video settings
https://accstuff.ru/s/gBbjLH low video settings

These my vr settings. low for big grid and thirsty tracks. Doesn't look great but needs must. Imola was a mixed bag so I had normal video with low CSP. Apart from 8 bit mirrors they don't effect the racing really.

They are still WIP and are aimed at being CPU limiting rather than GPU limited. You will need to delete one of the 'c' in acc for the links to work.

Thanks Brian but the links aren't working. Would love to give it a try
