No, I would've failed just the same. You can no longer make up for lack of PP at season start by trying different spending strategies.

It's possible with 2 A drivers. But everyone was gaining a lot of PP, and bet on Lauda/Arrows in 1979, so everyone had extremely reliable cars as a result. Peterson finished 7th many times, if only one more car retired it would have worked out for Williams.

That's the luck part Keke finished 6th in Britain, just ahead of Ronnie.

My drivers are doing wonders even with that reliability rate. But Ferrari is coming dangerously.

@Omer Said , they could have add another wonder by finishing in Britain. So that Lotus don't get that 7th

I tried way too hard this time, probably more than ever before. I didn't want to have any chance of Lauda's championship winning streak ending. And I'm quite proud of what my guys were able to achieve this season..

..even John. He cost us the constructors in 1980 and a much easier time in 1981, but he made up for it with some stellar performances this year!

Did not expect Ferrari to ever have a chance to beat Lauda with just a B driver. Only a 0.2PP advantage for them. Guess Lauda really is declining.
But, is that confirmed constructors champions? Already?
