DRIVER UPDATES HERE

I have used 100GB partition for decade, I see no reason for bigger then that. :)

Anything you can install on another partition imho is a plus because it means more software working standalone and no need to re-install for fresh OS.
Surely saves on process as well which can also be considered bloat.

I have a 1Tb boot SSD and a 4Tb games SSD, plus a 2Tb music drive and a 6Tb backup drive. Probably a bit much for a gaming computer. My development box is worse. At least I'm not running RAID arrays anymore.

Yeah like I said, using a 1TB to run Windows you need to use at least 50% of it to be any value, right ? So you put all your apps and software there.

Truth about apps is that only about 10% ever needs re-installing the rest will run from a partition which means you don't have to format it and will save time doing fresh OS. ;)

My gaming computer started out as a Windows 7 box that I "upgraded" to Windows 8 and 8.1 or 8.5 whatever that was then Windows 10. Recently I modified the boot partition so it could upgrade to Windows 11. Lots of bloat in their I'm sure.

Format 100GB for OS that should leave minimum 50GB free
Put everything else on D:\
So comes time to do fresh OS
Run advanced setup and delete C:\ and the other 3 partitions 16mb 100mb 500mb ( whatever ) ie: leaving 800+GB partition untouched.
Now click on NEXT! not NEW !
So most nothing at all on the 800+ GB partition needs re-install.
Then drop in your saved start menu, run saved registry, all done ;)

This is why majority of people don't do fresh OSes, because their C:\drive has too much to re-install they just can't be bothered to do it, which I totally understand.
