DiRT Rally 2.0 DiRT Rally 2.0 Full Car List Reveal

Codemasters have revealed the full car list set to feature in DiRT Rally 2.0 when it releases this February.

The full 50 strong list of vehicles for DR2.0 contain some very impressive manufacturers indeed, featuring a nice mix of historic and modern machines alongside of course the official 2018 FIA World Rallycross category within the game - no less than 12 different Rallycross cars across multiple classes of the series will be present in the title at launch.

As well as the full car list confirmation below, players purchasing the Deluxe Edition or the Day One Edition will also receive the Porsche 911 RGT, with the car then becoming a separate DLC 60 days after the game launches. Furthermore, Codemasters have confirmed additional "seasonal" content will be added to the sim at a later date.

Codemasters also recently revealed a surprisingly gentle minimum spec for PC, and peripheral support will also be confirmed in the coming days.

DiRT Rally 2.0 will release February 26th 2019.

With no new WRC cars and only a few countries it's a nobrainer and we all instead go get WRC8 in September with all the new cars and all countries.

Hopefully with better FFB, physics, damage and sounds etc etc.
 
It doesn't drive like D4.

If you're mainly interested in tarmac and are expecting AC physics, you might think again. If youre interested in the loose stuff and liked Dirt Rally, then it's actually an improvement. It drives brilliantly! The R5 cars on a flowing NZ road is really really good.

Dont take my word for it. Test it out, refund if needed.

I'll wait for a sale. Hope it's as good as you say though.

It took me longer than that just to get some of my controllers working with Dirt4, some never did and still don't.

CM are pretty lazy when it comes to proper PC Racing controller configuration and FFB but, their "easy out" has been to avoid and ignore the more-simulation side of things - including hardware. Sadly, it's the norm in recent PC Rally titles though.
 
What's surprising is that WRX cars seem to be quite easy to license (just look at what Project CARS 2, V-Rally 4 and Gravel feature in this regard) so I guess Codemasters really backed the wrong horse to some extent :D
 
They have said multiple times, there isn't going to be VR support at launch. It will probably come as a patch some time later

On what basis do you suggest that it will probably come as a patch? CM say they will see if there is support for VR after launch. They said exactly the same about DiRT 4 and it didn't happen. They also say it is a commercial decision.

However, at the time of DiRT Rally, what other proper rally games were out there? It was the WRC-Series and that was it. (As the DiRT-number series and DiRT Showdown wasn't exactly rally-games). The WRC cars the got licensed for DIRT Rally, was the then previous generation, and the then newest cars. However, those newest cars were only in first edition versions. They were likely not seen as direct competitors for the WRC series, as the DiRT-series never was a direct rally competitor.

With the relative massive sale numbers, and success that DiRT Rally, there is no surprise that they lost the chance of having modern WRC cars, and seeing as the DiRT Rally generation of WRC cars also are allowed in WRC today, no surprise that they've lost those either.
The WRC 2.0l cars are a bit more of a question, but they lost the C4 for DiRT 4 already, they might be a season pass thing, maybe not. But there is little doubt that the FIA and/or BigBen and/or Kylotonn and/or Red Bull would be rather unhappy to see a game that's a direct competitor to their WRC-licensed game using cars that goes with a "WRC"-tag on it.

You left out SLRE, an essential title when talking about licensing. Lots of rarities (Group S, historics, Suzuki, Proton, Toyota and more) not to mention plenty of modern cars.
 
I have a (less than good) feeling that they might show up. As Season Pass cars.

So something like Lancia 037 Rally and Opel Manta I guess, although I've got a range of unique or unrallied cars that I'd like to see.

  • Citroen Visa 1000 Pistes(often seen at Boucles du Spa)
  • Citroen Visa Lotus(2 prototypes ever made?)
  • Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione(okay, that license name alone would be expensive)
  • Ford Escort RS1700T(Actually a proper RWD-Escort, none of that FWD crap. Scrapped project, but partially later became the RS200.
  • Misubishi Starion 4WD(I kinda like the car in GT4)
  • Nissan 240 RS(Anyone remember that famous crash it had?)
  • Peugeot 305 V6(They tried. It was meh. Good. We got the 205 instead)
  • Porsche 959(Very successful out of WRC at the Dakar and Pharao Rallies)
  • Talbot Horizon Lotus(What is it with Lotus and helping French car makers completing like 2 prototypes? Apparently, only one of the two had a turbo-charger. This one was in the works after the rather successful outings as with the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus)
  • Toyota Celica Twin-Cam Turbo(After all, where there is Nissan, there is Toyota. I think both appeared during the 80s at the Safari Rally?)
  • Mazda RX-7 4x4(Mostly brain child of Achim Warmbold as Mazda Japan at first had nothing to do with the Mazda Rally Team Europe. In other news, I NEED THIS CAR. A Rotary-powered Group B Rally Car!)
Also, here are two cars of the "should-have-been" Group S regulations succeeding the Group B:

  • Audi Sport Quattro RS 002(Looking waaay different than the previous Group B car, came back out of nowhere to take part in the Eiffel Rally Festival 2016 after only 28 kms of distance since it was completed)
  • Lancia ECV(Appears like a further development of the Delta S4 on the outside)
  • Toyota 222D(Based on the MR2 and just like the car above, actually exists)
  • Opel Kadett E Rally 4x4
  • Peugeot 405(Dakar Dominator)
Wow, I think I spent quite a lot of time to research and write all of this. But there you'd have it, interesting and unique cars(which would be hard to create since they are so unique).

They haven't got the will neither skill to make a proper sim even though they say that they are not afraid to make a hard to play game !

I am amazed how easy it is for gamers to forget that Codies is a pure arcade developer and will always be.

If nothing else does, the controller setup page should indicate just that.

I mean barrel rolls FFS !

Codies have probably never even seen Kunos or iRacing controller setup page.
