Assetto Corsa on Three Screens

Derek Speare

@Simberia
UPDATE: Since the Tech Demo has been released, there is no question that AC will support three screens properly. My experience with the Tech Demo confirms that KS has nailed three screen support perfectly! TYVM, KS for implementing my request!

I have only one humble request for AC. I am sure it will be great in many aspects. However, I fear one area may not be like it should, and the recent screens don't augur well for my hope.

I would hope that AC does a perfect job at presenting the visual world across three screens like we see with iRacing and LFS. There the user has substantial control over the resolution of the display. NKP does, and the recent screens of AC across three screens look as if there is substantial warping of the display at the outer most edges.

Warping is common among Simbin's titles, and it's also existent in CARS. iRacing and LFS have no warp. I hope the future sees the same for AC.

Thank you,

Derek Speare

Ok, it's official on our facebook page,
copying here:
So you asked support for separate rendering, monitor angle settings, distance eye to screen, bezel compensation, screen width size and various other buzzwords. We deliver all this and add ingame realtime configuration.

Photo of the TV screens we used today for testing, which are certainly not ideal for the case, but the end result is not that bad isn't it?

Im now a religious man, Stefano and Aristotelis are my gods and i will pray 3 times a day.
My bible is this thread ;) the gods have spoken!

No but seriously, this is amazing, i can´t thank you enough for listening to us even though we are a minority and that you spent 4 hard days trying to figure this thing out.

Thank you very much for this, i will support you guys any way i can!

POV is hard to pick. If you have it realistic it's easier to judge the track/corners.
Less realistic means easier to see out of the side windows where the others are on track.
With 3 screens correctly set and close to the steering wheel, you can setup up a 180° FOV, so you get realistic FOV and Full 180° view to watch other cars on the track.

180 would be nice, i'd have to experiment a bit more. I think my problem is the screens are not close to the wheel as they are on the desk. But it's good anyway to not have the "warped" effect on the monitors in AC.

I have 3 23" , side screen are 30° from center screen, the center screen is juste behind my logitech DFP , so my eyes are ~70cm from the center screen.
With this I get a total horizontal fov of 120°, which is already quite good to race in traffic !
I constructed a mount with bosch alluminium profiles and Conrad VESA screen mount
The whole thing can slide front/back to go from desktop/coding/mmorpg position to racing position :)
