Valencia completes upcoming ACC DLC pack

Valencia joins ACC in next update.png
Kunos is heavily teasing its next update for Assetto Corsa Competizione. The latest piece of content announced to be joining the game next week is the Valencia circuit.

Teasing its supposed 'biggest ACC update ever,' Kunos has just announced the track set to join the upcoming DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione. Circuit Ricardo Tormo has featured in GT World Challenge Europe for three years now and is coming to ACC next week.

The circuit completes the soon-to-be-released DLC alongside a trio of new cars. The Ferrari 296 GT3, Porsche 992 911 GT3 R and Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 are also coming to the sim on 19 April.

In a Tweet announcing the track, Kunos also revealed that the content pack will be called the 2023 GT World Challenge DLC. Surprisingly enough, it will focus on this year's premier European GT3 championship. It should also bring all the drivers, teams and liveries from this coming year to the game. But don't expect every livery to feature quite yet as we are yet to see the cars compete in Round 1.

Another incomplete DLC pack

Whilst the addition of three new cars and a circuit will provide a new lease of life to the game, it is true that the so-called 2023 GT World Challenge pack won't fully represent this season. Prior to heading to Spain for the Valencia Sprint round, the SRO series will also pay a visit to the Hockenheim Ring this year. Unfortunately, it seems this much-desired venue will remain missing from the game.

This isn't the first time that a DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione will lack key content. Back in 2020, the DLC pack for that year brought Imola to the game alongside a pair of new cars. But it lacked Magny Cours, another round from that year's season. Today, fans still call out for this gap to be filled.

Whilst it is disappointing to see the German track lack representation in the game, we remain positive about the inclusion of Valencia. Traditionally a bike track, it often lacks representation in simracing. The last time it officially featured in a title was back in the GTR2 days.

The 2023 GT World Challenge DLC will release on 19 April alongside the next update for the game which is said to be a revolutionary one. Just one week away from the big release, we are excited to see the now five year-old game rejuvenated.

Which piece of content are you most excited for in the new 2023 GT World Challenge DLC?

Any new track in ACC is good news. And I didn't expect a new track with the pack, only the new GT3s. What I like is that Valencia is not included in many sims, I think it's only available in R3E?

Shame about Hockenheim, it would have been even better to have it. But this is less disappointing than last year's American track pack, which was a big letdown for me with only 3 tracks.

I'm still hoping for the GT2 cars some time in the future.

Also, isn't there supposed to be a physics update along with the DLC?

GT2 are confirmed since last summer. There will be a GT2 car pack, but it will arrive later this year.

I love it!! But I'm looking forward for Estoril,Mugello,Red Bull Ring and Magny Cours. Cheers.
None of these will come since they are not part of the GTWCE. Even Magny Cours isnt part of the championship anymore. I think Hockenheim has the best chances to arrive in the game, if they decide to do more track updates, that is.

Yes! Almost surely.

And also GTR 2 and RACE 07 back in the day :)

Agreed. Would love them to have full seasons of cars and tracks for the extra series (e.g. SRO America 2022, British GT 2019) they brought into the sim. That completeness is what makes a focussed sim like ACC worth it, IMO.

I don't know why, but I was under the impression that Valencia was no longer with us. I don't know why I thought it was closed up and demolished? It's great to see this track is alive and coming to ACC. I can't wait!

Not gonna buy anything for ACC unless they release something that makes sense to me.
- First of all, GT3 became boring (everything is about GT3's nowadays) which have sense taking in count the approach of this game, but it is not appealing to me anymore.
- Taking in count is a game that tries to replicate the SRO Championships in my opinion it does not fulfill its purpose as it does not replicate it in terms of the content available.
- The DLC's system online provide a month of enjoyment in my case as once you've driven the different combos provided with the content, there nothing more to it

For the rest of the things I do believe it is a great game, good physics, good FFB, good graphics and it really is great fun driving in it

One track is better than no tracks but calling this "the biggest DLC ever" is a bit disingenuous. Also it seems that difficulty licensing tracks is not only a covid issue, but like some other post-covid things, the new normal. Ill prob buy this but without much enthousiasm. I hope rf2 has something nice for their Q2 thing.

I will forever remember Valencia as the track we used to say goodbye to either Race07 or the original rFactor here at RD after many fruitful years of online racing. We used the GT cars included in GTR Evo, so quite close to current GT3 cars and used the track layout with the extra turns shown in the first screenshot above in the center. I picked the Lotus Elise GT. I always liked the track in Race and Race07, but it's true we mainly used Touring cars and the Minis on it.
No-brainer buy for me though I hardly ever use ACC any more, it will be fun to do some AI racing with the 2023 liveries and (most) cars used in 2023.

The Red Bull Ring is part of the GT2 European Series roster, though.

You are probably confusing it with the F1 Valencia Street Circuit that was active from 2008 to 2013. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valencia_Street_Circuit It's a different circuit this one :)
