rFactor 2 Delivers a Christmas Present: The Vauxhall Astra BTCC

'Tis the season to be racing! And in rFactor 2, you can soon be driving the Vauxhall Astra BTCC around a track of your choice. But that's not everything ...

While Opel has been very sparingly represented in motorsports recently, the Astra has had a presence in the touring car world. In RaceRoom, you could drive the Opel Astra TCR, and now the British version finally makes its sim racing debut.

Queue the Vauxhall Astra BTCC. Coming to rFactor 2 as part of the Christmas content drop.

And if you ever thought: "Where did Rich Energy go?", here's your answer:

This here Vauxhall will mark the first of two new vehicles for the Christmas content drop. While, due to leaks, the Vauxhall has been handled as the inevitable next release, it is yet unclear what the other new car for the Christmas content drop will be.

We may see the BTCC grid edging ever closer to completion with a Cupra León BTCC or a Honda Civic Type R joining the ranks. On the other hand, I wouldn't have anything against another LMH car. For that, however, the hybrid system would have to be included in rFactor 2.

Anyways, how are you finding Vauxhall joining the official rFactor 2 grid? Let us know in the comments down below!

IMO S397 should consider offering a full Series DLC option upfront. Perhaps in two parts...
Series Track Pack and Car Pack.

Doing the discount bundles at the end just leads to people getting frustrated.

Again, the term Christmas Present was an editorial choice by the editors HERE at RD. Has nothing to do with S397's decision to release new content during the Christmas Season, or how much the content will cost. Users WILL get some BTCC skins for free, and will see the BTCC field bop'd so that online racing is closer between fwd & rwd. Further, the BTCC tire will be upgraded, probably to give the FWD cars a better wearing tire, again to match up vs. the RWD cars.
Since only the Vauxhall & the Porsche are paid for items, (unless a Laser Track is announced) we might expect to see the cost of the Christmas Season release to be under 10 $ before the current $5.30 for each car takes affect.
You failed to understand what Christmas presents are, dude. Don't feel bad tho.

trust me, I don't. SEVERAL folks here and elsewhere have locked on the term Present and expected whatever was released to be free. That is their working definition of a Present, something given. In this case, the present is more content available for purchase, that's all.
Merry Christmas!

Remember when rFactor mods were free?? This is not a Christmas present if you have to pay for it?
the rFactor mods quality is about 0.1% of s397 DLC quality.
Free ? no thanks, I prefer to pay.
It's a bonus drop, you can buy or not.
