Project CARS 2 | Last Chance to Own Rare Sim Racing Supercars

Last Chance for Project CARS 2 01.jpg
With only days remaining before Project CARS 2 is delisted, sim racers have one last chance to own select supercars that are hard to find outside of this title.

Project CARS 2 is set to be delisted on September 21st, meaning that digital copies will no longer be sold through major platforms. Owners of the title will still be able to play it, however, and there are some facets of the polarizing title that sim racers may want to consider before it becomes far more difficult to own.

The driving physics in PC2 will forever be debated, with opinions ranging from unplayable to unforgettable, but there are certain elements of this sim that are less divisive.

Among the more widely appreciated features in the title is the selection of road and track day cars. Many hardcore simulators tend to lean heavily toward race cars, which often limits the experience of driving the world's most sought after road cars to titles like Forza and Gran Turismo.

But, Project CARS 2 packed its base content with a wide assortment of supercars and hypercars. There are more commonplace exotics like the McLaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918, but the selection extends back multiple decades to include cars that are rare in racing sims.

A stock McLaren F1 can be found here, which despite being considered by many experts to be the greatest road car ever built, is absent from a surprising number of simulators. Or the Porsche Carrera GT, which gives the driver an exciting, analog driving experience thanks to a screaming V10 engine and H-pattern shifting.

The Porsche 959, Radical RXC Turbo, BAC Mono, Ferrari Enzo, Ford GT and Acura NSX are also included in the Road Car classes in PC2, plus numerous others. Many of these cars are available as mods for Assetto Corsa, but remain difficult to find as official content for any racing simulator.

Project CARS 2 won't please everyone with its driving experience, but those in the sim racing community with a love for supercars may want to consider buying the title before it becomes delisted.

Hey, i am not the one trying to sell how the physics of AC are so much better with videos that actually highlight odd things in AC. So i commented the only real thing one can trully say from videos: looks.
Actually I have played both games (as most of sim racing fans at 2022) and am speaking from experience, only using the videos to state the obvious.

PCARS2 is a meme

My favorite being the lotus 40 on the 1966 spa.
I am with you there man!
reluctantly I have to say some of the content is outstanding. I had a play again last night after reading this and was stunned at the quality of graphics and the smoothness that it runs. I still go for races on old Spa in the Lotus as Reiza have let me down so far for that combo. My only gripe is that the FFB is a bit weak but I don't know where to get a decent custom version so any suggestions for that would be welcome. I still like having hot laps on the long version of California and Monte Carlo and agree with another poster the RX is still great fun. Damnit now I'm sounding like a fanboy.

I for one am sorry to see it go, and the level of hate some people have for PC2 is ridiculous, more than just sim snobbery. I love VR and back in 2017 PC2 blew everything else away in terms of immersion, performance and graphics in VR. So maybe the physics were sorely lacking for some people, for me, all I know is I got immersed and had a lot of fun with a LOT of content. Goodbye PC2, and thank you.

Never find the feeling with my wheel as it felt really weird with most cars. With my Xbox controller it's ok, but then basic. Gravel / Mud / Snow physics are weird and Gran Turismo like... and most cars feel to have the same boxy behavior. Solid NO from me....

Popsracers FFB files are really good and transform Pcars2 IMO

The best thing that the pCARS franchise did was allow Reiza to have access to their engine...

They had no clue on how to use it and it's taken years of polish for Reiza to get to where both pCARS 1 & 2 should of been before release... Both titles were released and left as finished products with at least a years worth of polish required to them...

Leaving a lot of promises unfulfilled and a game that works for some and leaves most wanting more out of it...

One could argue about best FFB and physics all day.

Regardless, PC2 was a great game. It had multiclass racing, big roster of cars and tracks with a great gameplay engine.

Its also one of the few sims that actually feels like a game and not a tech demo. Anyone getting into simracing should definitely get this.

Look to the weight transfer and grip progression. AC works as expected in a real car... PCARS2 is just toy physics.

Case closed!
Here's another guy who thinks to know better than others just by showing videos. "Just look at those physics!" - as if you could show that on a video.

Weight transfer is NOT the amount of pitch and roll. Case closed!

Edit. It's well worth the money though many a car in it has good ffb some such as the radical sr3 don't - anyone have setup that gives a bit ffb for that car - I use popsracer ffb which is very good but the radical sr3 not so much so

I stopped using project cars 2 for it dreadful Ai.
Fired up a couple of times for multiplayer whit a godson... Love the fact to be able to easily change track or car in a multiplayer session, hated ffb and physics felt weird.
End up giving AMS2 as a gift to my godson, same engine, same multiplayer experience way better physics and ffb.

AC version is so blatantly better than the eyes don't let me lie about it.

case closed my arse, you think those two vids are similar? Also congrats on owning a Mclaren F1 to "know" which one is better or not.

I really hate partisan fanboism......
