Project CARS 2 | Last Chance to Own Rare Sim Racing Supercars

Last Chance for Project CARS 2 01.jpg
With only days remaining before Project CARS 2 is delisted, sim racers have one last chance to own select supercars that are hard to find outside of this title.

Project CARS 2 is set to be delisted on September 21st, meaning that digital copies will no longer be sold through major platforms. Owners of the title will still be able to play it, however, and there are some facets of the polarizing title that sim racers may want to consider before it becomes far more difficult to own.

The driving physics in PC2 will forever be debated, with opinions ranging from unplayable to unforgettable, but there are certain elements of this sim that are less divisive.

Among the more widely appreciated features in the title is the selection of road and track day cars. Many hardcore simulators tend to lean heavily toward race cars, which often limits the experience of driving the world's most sought after road cars to titles like Forza and Gran Turismo.

But, Project CARS 2 packed its base content with a wide assortment of supercars and hypercars. There are more commonplace exotics like the McLaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918, but the selection extends back multiple decades to include cars that are rare in racing sims.

A stock McLaren F1 can be found here, which despite being considered by many experts to be the greatest road car ever built, is absent from a surprising number of simulators. Or the Porsche Carrera GT, which gives the driver an exciting, analog driving experience thanks to a screaming V10 engine and H-pattern shifting.

The Porsche 959, Radical RXC Turbo, BAC Mono, Ferrari Enzo, Ford GT and Acura NSX are also included in the Road Car classes in PC2, plus numerous others. Many of these cars are available as mods for Assetto Corsa, but remain difficult to find as official content for any racing simulator.

Project CARS 2 won't please everyone with its driving experience, but those in the sim racing community with a love for supercars may want to consider buying the title before it becomes delisted.

Highly recommend this, transformed my experience with the game and gives great feeling through my TS-XW.

I think Austin can vouch for it too in one of his videos, that's how I found out about it.

The four cars are
Honda's 2015 2&4 Concept Car, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R, the 1979 Nissan 280ZX Turbo IMSA GTX, and the 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 Group A.
So if you're interested in them yes.

It appears PC2 has left the Steam library already but PC and PC3 content is still available.

I hope I can grab the R32 GrpA later, because I got the ultimate/deluxe version from G2A for steam and the car didn't appear for me..I'm hoping it was just a simple error. I love that car.

I thank Project Cars 1 & 2 - they are some of the titles that got me into Sim Racing on the PC Platform.

However, having now gathered experience on different 'sims' (PC is really an arcade game) it is very difficult for me to go back to this title.

I love the amount of diversity on PC2 - different classes, different era's but especially the wide variety of tracks! And the career mode isn't even half bad either.

But some of the classes handling is so poor (I think GT3 is very poor in PC2° and others so arcade (I really think I'm in Ridge Racer for some of these classes) it is impossible to go back to this title and enjoy it. Some of the classic content is great but I only race classic or road cars occasionally.

For diversity and track selection I would still give this title a 7/10.
For handling and driving fun, it is a 4/10 now that I've raced on ACC and the likes. I wouldn't go out of your way to buy it if you haven't yet.

I'm sorry but saying PC1+2 and Ridge Racer in the same sentence is just wrong on so many levels. I really wish people would stop saying such nonsense. PC1+2 are Sims, end of story. They may not get things right for every car....but "Arcade" no just no.

The simulation value of PC2 is incredibly underrated (while many so-called hardcore sims are overrated when you actually dig under the hood to understand what they simulate and what they don't), but many sim racers expect everything to drive like the old ISImotor games did: low-speed sBinnalas for no reason, instant loss of grip over the traction limits, unrecoverable slip angles, cars that are on rails until they spin. If that is your yardstick then PC2 drives kinda weird.

On a related note, people give GT7 the same kind of crap. But I actually owned a 2002 Honda S2000 for 5 years and the one in GT7 (with my DD Pro wheel) drives/feels exactly right. I don't care if the tire model is "dynamic" or the physics are being updated 400000 times second.

All I know is they got someone who knew the S2000 to test drive/develop it. The S2000 in GT7 has all the little quirks of a car that I happen to know very well, both on track and street.

Pcars2 RX content is top notch IMO, They are a blast to drive and show codemasters how you transition from dirt to tarmac, The tarmac feeling in Dirt rally 1 and 2 is frankly terrible and it ruins it for me.

All this game needed, was one more "season" of updates. A second wave of DLC and patches. The company had no idea they were sitting on something great.
Or maybe they knew that they were sitting on dogpoop and got rid of it asap. Not even 10 more waves of patches and DLCs would have fixed it because it was broken at the core. Just like AMS2 is. Oh....right....here we go again. Because AMS2 fanboys think it's GREAT, it means that now PC2 is considered being "great" as well. Same old poop. Love this. Love it.
