GRID Legends Story Mode Gameplay Trailer Released

Leading up to a February release, Codemasters has released another trailer, this time featuring gameplay from the story mode.

GRID Legends is scheduled to be released on February 25th, and Codemasters is offering the public an advanced look at gameplay from the story mode.

GRID Legends will offer players the chance to play the Driven to Glory story mode, which puts you in the role of Driver 22, who signs on as the second driver for the Seneca Racing team. You'll need to build your reputation by performing well on track. The plot is described as a "classic underdog tale".

This plot seems quite close to the story offered in F1 2021's Braking Point, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since Braking Point was a highlight of last year's F1 game.

The most recent preview offered by Codemasters shows how the actors playing the central characters in the story will be shown in mixed reality cutscenes rather than animation. Much of the story seems to focus around the paddock and offices of the Seneca racing team, which should be a great way for players to immerse themselves in the many facets of auto racing.

There is also a lot of gameplay shown, which seems similar to the previous GRID installment. The racing action seems to favour high amounts of action rather than a pure focus on realism, which is an approach that should appease the existing fanbase for the series.

After the last Grid , the even more awful project cars 3 and the disappointing Dirt 5, i have decided to stay away from the codemasters games.

There was a time that the name codemasters was a guaranty for a quality game, but the it seems the company has been divided in two sections : The (better) serious games like Dirt Rally & F1 series and the fast cash grabs like Pcars 3, Dirt 5 and the latest Grid game.

This "grid legends" has signs of being a console (=xbox controller) game all over it and will be a hard pass for me.

I will not touch any Codemasters game again. I bought Grid 2019 and was so, so disappointed. The first 2 hours were okay, so no Steam refund, and after that bit of novelty I very very quickly lost interest. Much too expensive. And I did even buy the "ultimate" edition which annoyed me even more. Never again Codemasters for me.

Absolute cringe. It would of been nicer if you could choose a selection of characters that developed into an evolving a story line. Or ditch it altogether because we all just want a solid arcade racer, don't we?. Game looks nice though. More excited by RF2's new UI. :D

Oh no, they're going to do this to the WRC game next year too, aren't they...?
iirc the WRC game is being handled by the Dirt rally team. So Probably not lol. But that does bring up another point, do we think they will merge WRC and Dirt Rally or keep them separate things?

Not interesting, another "Game trash" like Grid 2019, So this Grid legends sounds like another tittle absurd and far away from the simracing community needs, there's a Evolution on wheels, DD, DD2, and VR system and glasses, physics, force feedback, etc to be closer to the reality, but they are lost, they are more busy on story mode forgetting the meaning of Racing Game, good luck with your 15 years clients, i hope be wrong and this tittle could be development by Dirt2.0 team but It sounds like another "tittle for childrens" like Dirt5, Pcars3 or Grid2019, so not for me

Looks like Project Cars 3.
Hahaha is magic!! On Pcars3 you can Drive on rain but no pit boxes, so you could be a Hero, this tittle sounds better maybe you could drive like a drunken monkey and you win if you destroy all walls on track, Racing?? Uppss don't mind

I agree with you, if you search Racing tittles you find AC, ACC, Ams2, Rf2, F1 2019 and Dirt 2.0, but never put together with Pcars3, Grid2019 or Dirt5. Don't know what is Codemasters target clients....

I love threads like these because it's like you dumbasses literally cannot comprehend that not every racing game is a sim and it's so goddamn funny, like wow. How is it possible for you all to be this stupid lmao
Play Grid2019 or Pcars3 the meaning of arcade is far away, at least Grid Autosport was a funny arcade with great ffb and some physics interesting
