GRID Legends Story Mode Gameplay Trailer Released

Leading up to a February release, Codemasters has released another trailer, this time featuring gameplay from the story mode.

GRID Legends is scheduled to be released on February 25th, and Codemasters is offering the public an advanced look at gameplay from the story mode.

GRID Legends will offer players the chance to play the Driven to Glory story mode, which puts you in the role of Driver 22, who signs on as the second driver for the Seneca Racing team. You'll need to build your reputation by performing well on track. The plot is described as a "classic underdog tale".

This plot seems quite close to the story offered in F1 2021's Braking Point, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since Braking Point was a highlight of last year's F1 game.

The most recent preview offered by Codemasters shows how the actors playing the central characters in the story will be shown in mixed reality cutscenes rather than animation. Much of the story seems to focus around the paddock and offices of the Seneca racing team, which should be a great way for players to immerse themselves in the many facets of auto racing.

There is also a lot of gameplay shown, which seems similar to the previous GRID installment. The racing action seems to favour high amounts of action rather than a pure focus on realism, which is an approach that should appease the existing fanbase for the series.

At least it needs to match the steering angle of player's steering wheel then we're talking

After the last Grid , the even more awful project cars 3 and the disappointing Dirt 5, i have decided to stay away from the codemasters games.

There was a time that the name codemasters was a guaranty for a quality game, but the it seems the company has been divided in two sections : The (better) serious games like Dirt Rally & F1 series and the fast cash grabs like Pcars 3, Dirt 5 and the latest Grid game.

This "grid legends" has signs of being a console (=xbox controller) game all over it and will be a hard pass for me.
They arent fast cash grabs they're what all racing games used to be. Not everything has to be serious and sim based. Deluded if you think it does.

This is ultimately even worse than the "cool" cringe of NFS 2015 cutscenes, since it has woke ideology writen all over it. I might be naive, but I consider motorsport (apart from F1, maybe) to be one of the few things not corrupted by political corectness and I like it that way.

People have their opinions on the subject matter just like you guys have your opinions on other's comments. This is a front page news article on a simracing forum, and people are invited to give their opinion in the comments. If you like what you see in Grid Legends, buy it an play it, nobody's preventing you.

The main problem I have with this 'woke' business in general is they market towards people who realistically aren't interested in stuff like motorsport. Go and watch a race and the people paying on the door aren't remotely representative of what's going on in the advert.

I have a feeling Codemasters will get woke and go broke on this one. Look at the comic book industry at the moment. If you know nothing about comics you may think it's booming because of movies but quite the opposite. The lunatics took over the asylum and sales are down the pan.

Twitter points don't translate in money.

Some footage without the nooby line would be cool... :whistling:
Expecting a solid arcade racer... so i am out like the majority here.

lol I see the mindset has really changed in a few years on this website, which is good.
A few years ago, you guys were the wokest far-left community on the net, and now look how the tables turned...
It still won't excuse your past behavior, but at least you opened your eyes. About time too...
This website has even banned me several times for just using the word "woke" or "libertard".
ha ha ha now look what's happening.
It's annoying to be always right. ;)

I'm not going to lie. I'm going to test this game before purchasing. If it's a good simcade, I'll probably buy it on sale, if it lets you skip the 'story' and/or cutscenes. If not, probably direct uninstall, no purchase. I hate being forced to 'consume' or 'experience' content I wish not to. Good if it's there, bad if it's 'forced' upon you. Also seems like a good No VR, No Buy policy type of game.
