Forza Motorsport Unveils New Oval Circuit

Only two months remain until the release of Forza Motorsport on October 10th, and after the recent deep dive into the tire model and AI improvements, a new track has been announced: The ficitional circuit is called Eaglerock Speedway, and its announcement also revealed a new car to be coming to the new Forza Motorsport.

The new track is an oval, but not a D-shaped one like many 1.5-mile speedways found in the United States. Eaglerock Speedway's shape rather resembles that of the Milwaukee Mile, although the new Forza track looks to be longer than the famous venue in the Wisconsin State Fair Park. The trailer shows only slightly-banked turns, so the track might not be a full-throttle affair for the entire lap.

There may be more to the circuit than just the oval version, though: The track map shown in the trailer also includes what looks like a large chicane in the middle of the back straight, so a road course configuration could also be part of the track, although it looks less intricate than the Daytona road course, for example - which is hardly surprising considering the size of the latter, to be fair.

14 Circuits Now Confirmed

Also new to the franchise is the 2020 Audi RS3, which can be seen running the oval course at speed in the trailer. According to Audi, the sedan's engine puts out 395 hp - though that is likely subject to change in Forza Motorsport with the series' usual tuning and upgrade options at hand.

The announcement of the new Audi and Eaglerock Speedway follows the confirmation that Road America would return to the franchise's new release, raising the number of confirmed tracks to 14. You can find a full list (as of August 9th, 2023) below.

I'm only interested if they include VR support on PC. Recently got a Cosmos Elite and Moza R9 bundle to upgrade my simming, and I only want to race in VR now.

Also remember a decade ago when they hyped up their "Driveatar" AI or whatever, and when it came out, it felt like the only noticeable difference between their AI and every other games' AI, was that the AI drivers were using the Gamertags of your friends? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Given that they are upgrading the physics I'm slightly interested in this...

Will be interesting to see how it drives... Some good tracks to try it on... Could be fun...
Every game, everywhere, all the time, claims to upgrade physics. This is not the sim this site wants it to be, the market is much bigger for arcade games for 14-18 yr olds.

I can’t believe they don’t have qualifying in it, how utterly ridiculous.

The whole game is seems to be focused (again) on upgrading cars (wtf), short races, winning credits to “upgrade your car”.

Why would you upgrade a brand new sports or hypercar with new brakes or cooling systems, you don’t buy a high end sports car then set about replacing all the components!

High speed Ring and Tokyo R246 Come to mind. I'm on the same boat there.
I loved High speed ring before it got ruined and have a version on GTR2, as for Route 246, That was a great track for the earlier GT games, I have that in GTR2 also but it's a bit wide and seems not to have the appeal of the original.
What about an AI tool to really push the boat out, bring up the Schmoogle Maps and highlight the area you want to race, then after installing the correct boundaries on this 'commandeered' section of road you can race what and where you like... pits could be in a local bus station, car park or Farmyard, just imagine... 'The Gumball Rally' 'Mille Miglia' or 'Balmoral outskirts' the choice would be yours.

Public multiplayer has practice and qualifying sessions...

In order to upgrade your car, you have to drive it first and gain experience points which unlocks upgrade categories. From what C. Esaki at Turn 10 said, they want you to drive the car in stock form before throwing parts at it.

Cheers for the info mate.

Weird that they call themselves a Motorsport game but don’t have qualifying etc in the career : single player, qualifying is literally key to the race.

Yeah just look at the pCARS series... That did well somehow...

The Forza Horizon series isn't bad for what it is... Go into it expecting too much and you'll get disappointed...

If they can make Forza a little more realistic than Forza Horizon then it could be fun... At this point in my life endless BETAs get tiring... Even if the physics are better, sometimes I just want to have fun...

Sim racing atm is a very mixed bag of bugs... Just take your pick as to what you can put up with...

I think that is strange too, but they do allow the player to place themselves on the grid, wherever they want. It's no substitute and I would like if FM8 offered both options in single player. If the new game is a service title (like iRacing or R3E) then I can see single player qualifying being added at some point. Plenty of people seem to be puzzled why the game doesn't have that option.
