Automobilista 2 Version V1.3.8.1 Released

The latest monthly update for Reiza Studios popular title Automobilista 2 has been released.

Following on from a successful Release Candidate update early last week, the latest content, physics upgrades and quality of life fixes were officially rolled out on Friday 1st July. We take a look at some of the highlights of this release below.

The Argentinean Pack

The main highlight amongst the considerable raft of changes in the latest release is undoubtedly the Argentinean Pack. This track pack is free for all owners of the base game and contains a mixture of tracks previously released by Reiza Studios alongside a completely new track.

The first circuit returning to the fold is Buenos Aires. In fact, there is a grand total of 6 layouts available comprising of a technical infield and ultrafast straights. Each one offering a great driving experience and some fun racing opportunities.

Another returnee is the Cordoba circuit, except this time, we have two additional layouts. These were added with the official release on Friday. The flowing layouts are great for some of the older stock cars which slide through the corners.

The other circuit to be added is Termas de Rio Hondo. With its wide, sweeping layout, this track has hosted MotoGP and WTCC events in its recent history. It is ideal for everything from GTs to single seaters and features some great overtaking opportunities.

Physics updates

As has been the case in the last few updates, the team at Reiza studios have been hard at work in producing some updated physics for some of the car classes currently featured in-game.

For this latest update, the improved physics have been rolled out for the Group A touring cars, BMW M1 Procar, Sprint Race, Mini JCW and F3 single seaters and many more. Each of these new cars are now feeling even better to drive than before with improved handling and road feel.

There are also other physics updates to tyre and drivetrain models for a variety of cars along with other tweaks to further raise the handling bar as the title seeks to fully utilise the potential of the Madness engine.

As much as I do enjoy and recommend the game, I can see why people would get frustrated with the odd way they deliver content.

Though this approach seems to be deeply ingrained within all elements of the title.

pfffff Americans
really you've some brain problem guys
Ovals????? WTF ovals. Enjoy the free ride in some wonderful track and save your money for some psycho treatment
Not from the US at all (may I remind you that most of Americans are from other countries, as Reiza's Brazilian staff?), but I am really interested in the oval content. Once you have tried and.started to understand the oval racing, the discipline becomes really unique, as much as the rallycross (which I would like to see too in ams2, although it may not be appealing for others). Some may give the discipline a try in pcars2 or nascar heat 4 or 5 (all really cheap titles on sale) to understand the mechanics, driving in the pack at high speeds, the drag...

My message has been removed with no reason, btw the problem with this game it is also a very small amount of drivers per day. On a Friday at 7 PM were 51 people in 10 rooms.
Hope it will increase in the future
Agree, when I want to race online AMS2 is always the first title I fire up, but a lot of times there's no ranked server to join and I have to either race offline or go for rf2/ACC.
Fortunately sometimes you can get in servers that explore content you wouldn't use otherwise (like the formula trainer on some brasilian track I don't remember, that was REALLY fun).

No I removed it for trolling, both AMS2 and rF2 threads seem to attract this particular type of posts.
So I'm being more proactive as requested by supporters of both games and acting before we end up with the usual crap.

okay you are the moderator. My intention was not to piss you off, but a racing game with no people playing is not attractive. we can write about how beautiful it is and whatever you want but without people it is a desert with some animals adapted to live there.

ok

We race it at least 3 times at week and I know at least 5-6 communities running it actively....you should try join some of those.

Exactly. There are many communities holding races/championships sometimes even multiple times a week.
Without competition servers it will be hard to have casual pick-up races, but communities are pretty lively

Been trying several combos after latest release, and enjoyed every single one so far. Lots to try yet, but seems like AMS2 is finally reaching the stability required for this sim to progress in other area.

After reading in past months accusations from some users that this site had AMS2 bias, having these news come a week late, and miss on the dev update altogether, I guess those opinions can be disregarded.

Very late news this time on racedepartment, but it's an awesome update! The 3 free new tracks are amazing and the ABS, sound and tire improvements too. Thanks Reiza!
I was having a lot of lock ups even with ABS on. do i need to reset the setups?

Still can't see why Reiza are yet again prioritizing this type of content over delayed paid for DLC. Isn't this thinking just delaying things more. Stop delivering what you haven't promised and start delivering what you have. This content ahead of USA Pack ovals, not delivering Classic SPA because you now want to include an updated new SPA. People who look forward to ovals are not wanting more road tracks, people who look forward to Classic don't want updated new tracks. Just add the new content after your promised content that you took our money for. Very quickly losing faith in AMS2 delivery philosophy when we still can't play the game as your promises intended.
I don't know if you are aware but updates on classic spa, nurbugring, etc will still go for free ro season pass owners even if it gets released next year, same go for the Racing USA pack that will release on the next update if im not mistaken.

I really don't get your desperation, I also bought the season pass, and the only thing im actually bothered about is the lack of that Senna Mclaren from the first teaser trailer lol
