2022 Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

One race remains in the 2022 F1 season, as the field takes on Yas Marina and says goodbye to certain drivers.

Last year's Abu Dhabi grand prix was the exciting and controversial end to an epic battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. No such drama exists entering the 2022 race, but there are plenty of things to watch for in this weekend's race.

The final ranking of the drivers' standings is still to be decided, and drivers will be battling fiercely one last time to edge out their season rivals. The most high profile of these battles will be between Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, who enter the race tied for 2nd in the standings with 290 points each. Controversy surrounding team orders with teammate Verstappen at the Sao Paulo grand prix prevented Perez from entering this race with an advantage.

This may also be our last opportunity to see certain drivers in an F1 car. Mick Schumacher, Nicholas Latifi and Daniel Ricciardo all have uncertain futures in the sport. Further, this will be Sebastian Vettel's final race in F1, as the 4-time champion is retiring.

A 1-2 finish by Mercedes in Brazil showed the world that the Silver Arrows could once again be competitive when the 2023 season begins, though that winning pace has come far too late for this season.

Let us know in the comments below whether you enjoyed this season of F1. What was your favourite moment, if any?

I hope RB lets Vettel take out his 1st if not all of his championship winning cars out next year.

Though this weekend would've been perfect as he won his 1st at Abu Dhabi. Perfect goodbye outside a good race result itself this weekend.

(unless I missed something)

So it turns out scabby verstappens selfishness at Brazil cost Perez 2nd in the championship. Bell and end come to mind.
I might be wrong, so please correct me: Perez would have gotten 2 points in Brasil but lost 3 points today, so it wouldn't have been enough, plus since LeClerc had one more win he would have been in front in the rankings in a tie situation.

I think if he had the right car this wouldnt be happening.
I'm extremely happy for Vettel.
He always exuded a public persona I liked.
I remember his first days in F1, walking into the paddock by himself with a briefcase and doing it all on his own.
Seems to be a very private man who can have a laugh and make a joke but more importantly...take a joke.
This is a long, long way from 'multi21'
He now gets to enjoy his farm with Hanna and his kids....and spend some of the money he's made over a very successful career.
Good luck to him.

After the last race of the season:
Max 149 points more then Checo,
Lewis 35 points less then George.

This also says something, Isn’t it time for Lewis to retire?

F1 2023

Mercedes will not be better
Red Bull will dominate
Ferrari will screw up 4-5 races. An improvement
Las Vegas will be the most over-hyped, horrendously expensive F1 race in history
Mag and Hulk will kill each other
Alonso still won't like the car
Ocon will move into Latifi status
Horner will still be a tool
Toto will check out after the 5th race
China will lock down the whole F1 circus because of Covid-19 for a month
Lewis will be assigned to give Mick driving lessons
Perez will show who he really is
Williams will lose their F1 license for "non participation"
Crafty will continue to be irritating
People will argue about who had the right to the corner
Earlier DRS will not offset cars that are unable to catch and pass each other
2021 Abu Dhabi will still be brought up
Pit crews and staff will stage a protest against "hostile work expectations"

I can put up with all of that as long as Russell is ahead of Hamilton again next year, plus, I'm sure there will be plenty to enjoy.. if you're a proper motorsports fan :)
