2022 Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

One race remains in the 2022 F1 season, as the field takes on Yas Marina and says goodbye to certain drivers.

Last year's Abu Dhabi grand prix was the exciting and controversial end to an epic battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. No such drama exists entering the 2022 race, but there are plenty of things to watch for in this weekend's race.

The final ranking of the drivers' standings is still to be decided, and drivers will be battling fiercely one last time to edge out their season rivals. The most high profile of these battles will be between Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, who enter the race tied for 2nd in the standings with 290 points each. Controversy surrounding team orders with teammate Verstappen at the Sao Paulo grand prix prevented Perez from entering this race with an advantage.

This may also be our last opportunity to see certain drivers in an F1 car. Mick Schumacher, Nicholas Latifi and Daniel Ricciardo all have uncertain futures in the sport. Further, this will be Sebastian Vettel's final race in F1, as the 4-time champion is retiring.

A 1-2 finish by Mercedes in Brazil showed the world that the Silver Arrows could once again be competitive when the 2023 season begins, though that winning pace has come far too late for this season.

Let us know in the comments below whether you enjoyed this season of F1. What was your favourite moment, if any?

Funny things to look out for:

- Can Ferrari **** every race up, somehow?
- Will Verstappen inadverdently crash into Perez?
- Will Danny Ric hit this weekends hero?
- Will Goatifi crash 3 laps from the end, handing 2nd overall to whoever is in front at the time?
- Will FIA do a Ferrari and find another, unique way to screw up again?
- Will Strolololol block someone on the straight, showing impressive awareness and start a big crash?

Only time will tell.

Too bad the FIA have already F'd up the safety car procedure last race and didn't save it for this one for, nostalgia reasons. We've already had a MV/LH crash last race to bring us in the mood xD

Now the last GP has arrived I find it difficult that Vettel is going to retire. Will miss his character in F1.

At least we have the 'Suck my orange meatball flags' team-up to look forward to, along the new arrivals.

Also, Alonso from [tends to crash with teammates] Ocon to [tends to crash with teammates] Stroll :)

The way it went from the good relationship to I'm done with this guy. It'll be intriguing to see how his relationship with daddy & Jr. Stroll will develop. There's always another bridge to burn xD
Max's antics last race reminded me of his good friend Alonso. Maybe he took advice or inspiration

Me too. Great driver, amazing person.

It's also goodbye to Ricciardo (forever?), Schumacher (forever?) and Latifi (forever!) More changes than I was expecting at the start of the season.

On a side note, I have just read that they are going to be testing wheel arches for wet races to reduce spray. Cant say i like the idea, but then again i lost interest in F1 years ago.

I am still waiting for the moment a car blocks the pit exit in the tunnel during the race. Really interesting to see what will happen then.

This weekend has me all sorts of depressed and sort of happy, that kicked into overdrive on Monday. I have been dreading this weekend since August but I am happy for him.. He drove his ass off in qualifying. Wish he wasnt leaving, he just needs a better machine.. Anyways I want to see a podium but I know thats not going to happen, I'm a grown ass man but I can guarantee some tears. Crossing my fingers for the Audi deal!!
