Awesome updates.
And I thought about the app and came up with some suggestions. Maybe you want to consider to add those features.
- The second map (car focused one)... could it be possible to make a 3rd map or change the 2nd one to fix on Turns (like F1's speed trap on turns?). I beileve if there's section file of turn names, that might be possible to add. For online event broadcasting purposes of course. And it might be synced with the cameras so if camera changes, the speed trap map follows the turn as well with the focused car.
- The app's UI a bit confusing in my opinion. Could it be possible to change their position and make them bigger or add some text?
- If we're adding a car that has "Safety Car" in their name, could it be possible to make that car's indicator static and numberless? For manual safety car procedure application on race (like a car class: Safety/Medical).
- A temporary marker on track that indicates a collusion happened (like a 10s blinking exclamation sign).
Regarding you suggestion:
- i think it should be possible to center the current camera position and move with the camera. This should hopefully also work if you're in the car, so it could just be one mode for everyone which automatically changes with the camera.
- I'm not sure about the UI, because the map is rendered over it which I cannot change. So if it gets bigger it will be covered most of the time. Also I think after some initial getting to know it phase it should be pretty clear and not often used as well (or do you intent to change some things often?)
- what do you mean with static? Should it show the safety cars position on the map or be hidden (I guess a mark that's not connected to the cars position would be even more confusing)? I mean stopped cars could be hidden anyways. So as long as it's in the pits in could be hidden. Class wise it could get a different color as well. Otherwise you could use the traffic with classes mode to have the safety car be identified as traffic with different styling and show the rest as classes. (Not possible with position mode though)
- I'm not sure of whether I can know in the app that a collision happened at all, so finding the position if that happens would require that. I'll check if there is something about that
