The real track:
===============
Sebring International Raceway is a road course auto racing facility located in Sebring, Florida. The raceway occupies a portion of Hendricks Field, a former military training base and currently an active airport for private and commercial traffic.
Sebring Raceway is one of the oldest continuously-operating race tracks in the United States, its first race being run in 1950. Many consider Sebring to be one of the classic race tracks in North American sports car racing, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of Daytona, and 24 Hours of Le Mans to be the trifecta of sports car racing.

The original sim track:

The original track was made by SSM for F1C. I have no further information about who and when this was made.
The Lonely can't remember himself, but he started with an already converted version of rFactor.
The conversion:
===============
The_Lonely gave me permission to convert his Sebring12h rFactor track to GTR2. It is the only version that has a more acurate 15th and 16th corner. I did the conversion to GTR2 and changed ... a lot!
I used objects and textures from the Sebring 2008 version, released by iByte_dk, but I edited almost everything.
Especially the pitbuilding, because the mapping was all screwed up (still not perfect.. but much better now)
What I did:
===========
- basic conversion from rFactor to GTR2
- added objects and textures from the Sebring 08 version by iByte_dk
- added GTR2 LOD and icons made by FrankyBB and BlackHawk from Pilsbierbude
- fixed pacecars and small errors in the AIW's
- added shadows to pits and some trees
- added bumps to the gdb file
- fixed startlights and pitlights
- new animated marchalls
- added walls in turn 15-16
- editing turn 17, moving the bridge and adding trees
- changed many textures, edited saturation
- made a new scoretower
- corrected race path alpha
- I changed mapping and textures of the pitbuilding and added glass.
- added rain reflection
Version 1.5
==========
- put all the cones and tirewalls in the right place for the different layouts
- made runway more bumby
- added the American flag
- tuning of textures and materials
- fixing and remapping the pitbuilding
- cleaning up of TRK files
- corrections in the GDB files
- improvement of FPS
Still to do:
============
- just wait until VLM release their brand new version :)
Most straights on this track are a bit too long, compared to real life.
It would take a lot of work to have this fixed.. (too much for me right now)
But I guess it's the best version so far..
