This small mod changes the starting positions for the cars in P12-P26 to be spread around the tracks.

Why?
Multiclass racing (e.g. DPI or LMPs) in major events, like Daytona, Le Mans are all about traffic management. However, with the standard standing start, you start overtaking the traffic only from Lap 6 or 7. Most single player races I have time for only last 7-10 laps. So most of the time I race in multiclass racing, I don't see a single GT car.

With this extension, I set 11 opponents in the same class (e.g. DPI/LMP2) and the rest 12-20+ cars - traffic (e.g. GT cars). Fun multiclass actions starts somewhere toward the end of lap 1 and never ends!
Please note that your position will be incorrect during first few laps, until you overtake most traffic (so CrewChief will complain about a terrible start ;) ).

Modified start positions are included for the following tracks:
- lilski_road_america
- lilski_watkins_glen
- rt_daytona
- rt_sebring
- zw_midohio
- lemans2017
- spa
- ks_laguna_seca

Installation:
- get relevant tracks
- unzip to assettocorsa\content\
- it will not overwrite any existing files, but instead will add another layout to existing tracks

How to use:
- you need to specify the whole grid manually (see screenshot)
- pick 12 opponents you want to start with you on the starting grid
- make sure your position is between 1 and 12
- pick additional opponents for "traffic" in position 13+ (I recommend between 8 and 13)

Hi BoBaHK. I was looking to know two thinks if possible. What program are you using to open and save Kn5 file? Is it possible for eg at zw_midohio with its 34 grid slots to start the first group (12) of cars on the normal grid as normal then say at third of a lap behind the next class/group of cars (12) start on a grid and then the last 13 cars start at say another third back on with a final Grid? You are really onto something here with this for multi-class racing if this can be obtained. Is content manager spreading the cars out randomly or have you been able to predetermined were the other cars that are not in the first twelve start from? Many Thanks Sean...

Thank you for the review Sean. What you are describing is totally doable and you can specify the order exactly how you want to in CM! I am using 3DSimEd 3 to open kn5 files and save as fbx, edit them and then save kn5 using ksEditor. The whole pipeline is rather straightforward and takes ~30-45 mins. Happy to share more details, if you want to play around - let's use the Discussion.
I forgot to ask this previously brother, so can i still qualify ? and then it will just take the results and use the 12+ at the back of the field to start in the specified places you created ?

first 12 positions are legit, so you can qualify. Just make sure you don't fall behind P12, otherwise you will start somewhere on the track. I would probably make sure 12th car is one class lower, so you will be P11 at worst.

There is a small problem with the Sebring Multiclass which is named Watkins Glen in the game. The files have been reversed, I believe.

Hey, just wanted to share my thoughts about this mod, it is fantastic! makes starting much more exiting annd i dont need to race half an hour just to see some gt cars xD
Only thing that would be cool would be a version where you have more cars in the first start group. That would be really helpful for races like Daytona 24hr where you have also LMP3s. They are normally quicker than gt3, but on the first lap, they often get overtaken by the gt3 because they have better top speed, and then they are stuck behind them :/ so it would be really cool to have a mod where you for example have 26 or so cars in the first group and then in the second the rest, but otherwise this mod is perfect

Fantastic update that was needed. If you are taking request, Road Atlanta could do with the same thing. Its the Uzi & Rainmaker and Jim Lioyd version 1.3
Excellent idea, but RT already released a Sebring, I suggest you find it since its infinitely better than the one you did.

Good point - don't know how did I miss a new version from reboot?! It was a bit more tricky for rt_sebring, but now I am confident I can do it for any track. Will try to release asap!

This is awesome! Are there any plans for other tracks? It would be amazing if you did this with the reboot team version of Le Mans (sx_lemans). It would truly be multiclass bliss!

Hey buddy this is a FANTASTIC idea man and yes your right i usually run about 24 laps and get around 6 laps or so with the GT cars. Quick question, because of my computer i only run about 24 cars total 12 prototypes and 11 GT's will this still work for my own set up ? or does it just use the grid youve set ?

It will work well for your setup. I usually have 26 cars in total, since even on beefy PC 30+ cars hurts in VR. You can use any number - the first 12 will be on the grid, 13-26 - on the track, 27+ - will start behind, if you want even more traffic. If you specify only 18 cars, you will have 12 on the grid and 6 on the track. This mod will actually help with FPS, since in the beginning you wouldn't have all 26 cars visible! If there is interest - I can upload some more tracks with this idea.
