A few months after 24hs Lemons Corvair liveries, Here is the 2nd step of my journey with the Chevrolet Corvair, using Stereo's mod: 5 liveries of the late 60's racer by Don Yenko and its team, + 5 liveries of the following wave of drivers of the 70's.
The first batch focuses on Don Yenko's sports cars team, active from 1966 to 1968 before he turned his attention on Camaro.
I chosen 5 cars & their drivers who made the Yenko Stinger's short but intense career shine, winning single races and SCCA championships in '66 and '67: Dick and Jerry Thompson, Jim Spencer, Ross Mac Grotty (with Art Riley), and charismatic Donna "think pink" Mae Mims.
The second batch goes from 1972 to 1979: Some of the same cars who raced precedently in the late 60's where restored by young drivers aware of Stinger's qualities,
like Rod Bean, James Reeve, James Schardt, Eric Meislahn and Joe Burch. The Corvair prod was
discontinued since a while, so it was a different story, but they were pretty active on tracks, with
the same passion, for sure!
I had a great time reading, looking for any useful
information, and found the evolution of the paintings over the two decades very interesting to capture.
So here are these 5 + 5 liveries, ready for battle and lot of fun!
