ETCC 2002

European Touring Car Championship for Race 07 + STCC1 or 2 addon

STCC1 or STCC2 addon is needed for Volvo s60.
There are backup sound files included for STCC1 and STCC2. The file that will be used by the game should be named 'Volvo_S60_ETCC.aud'.
STCC2 sounds are used as default.

The previous 1990's Super Touring cars had been so advanced and expensive that most of the manufacturers had dropped out.
So the idea with the new Super 2000 rules was to cut cost, but yet provide spectacular cars.
The rules were however adjusted at a late stage by demands from BMW.

The cars in ETCC 2002 were very much upgraded 'Super Production' cars, the regulations that previously were used as a class in the european championship (ETC).
The cars had 2 litre naturally aspirated engines, max.8500 rpm, approax. 270 bhp.
5 speed H-pattern gearboxes were required.
Some standard road car suspension parts were used, making the cars more fragile than the super touring cars.

New in this version:

* Tweaked for 'remaster' shaders, can not be used with standard shaders.
* Edited wheel shadows for better pitstop visuals.
* Windows transparency fix.

* Fixed support for pitcrew. Should now load without CTD if pitcrew is enabled.

* Tweaked some materials slightly to look just a little bit better.
* Added collision feelers for better ai driving control.

How to install:
---------------
If you have an older version installed, please delete the old 'ETCC_2002' folder first.
Then unzip the contents into your Race 07 folder.

To uninstall, you only need to delete '...race 07\Gamedata\Teams\ETCC_2002'.
There are also some ui textures and talent files, but they don't do anything if the cars are deleted.

About the mod:

The aim was to make a simple skinpack/mod for my own use representing the 2002 European Touring Car Championship.
Since the cars (most of them) were in the game already it SHOULD be a nice and quick project...

* I discovered that the facelifted BMW 320i E46 S2000 in the game were more different from the 2002 version then I thought.
The in game version would be a great ETCC '03 BMW, but I wanted to make the first year of the S2000 era, so that was not an option.
Some resculpting of the bodykit and front was added to the project. And because of that I thought I could also edit the materials to something I prefere.

* The standard body material of the Volvo s60 looks like solid paint, so materials and rmap texture was edited to a more 'metallic' look.
A few edited parts are included.

* Alfa Romeo 156 has got edited road car rearview mirrors and materials.

* Nissan Primera s2000 car was made for this mod. The old super touring version was used as a base, but it is remade, remodelled, remapped and edited in every possible way.
Simbin wheels were used. I haven't found any RHD windscreen wiper animations to use as a base, so I had to use a single wiper.

* There is no Honda Civic in the mod (at least not for now).

* Different helmet types were added from my Super Touring mod, and LOD distances for the cars were increased.

* Michelin tyres where used in 2002, so some texture editing was needed. This is a little bit tricky to get right and it took some time.

* The standard physics was too 'slidey' for my taste, so I remade it, even if that was not the plan.
This includes the standard changes: tyres, higher suspension calculations, less artificial ai stabilisation, new suspension files etc.

* All sound files have been edited slightly.

* Helmets, driver suits and talent files are included.

* I also made some new custom emaps.
