RD Rally Championship Season 8 - General Discussion

Ive also been doing setup testing (never done it before) in Wales on Bidno Reverse. Where is it that you see how good your time is on a ranking board?
Sorry, I just remembered that you had asked this and I never replied!
The ranking board is one of the great hidden things in DR - simply amazing that they hid it in the way they have.
After finishing a stage, you have to select "Friends comparison" and then you get the option to select "View all". Obvious, right? (What the fk were they smoking when they coded this...?)
The "Friends comparison" page actually has a "Pos" column on the left, and your ranking on the global results list is shown there too (also bizarre, frankly, as you'd never figure out that this is what it means without loading the global page cos it doesn't tell you).
The insanity doesn't end there though: when it shows you the global results, it'll say "stage name | weather conditions", and you'll immediately figure out that the results are for the whole class, not just the car you chose. But it'll take you another few stage times in different weather conditions before you realise that the weather part of the page heading is a lie - the results page only lists times for the stage itself, irrespective of the weather in which you drove.
Despite all of the breakage, it's a useful page to see how you compare to others. You may want to ignore the first several times on each stage, some of which will be 30 seconds or a minute ahead of the realistic times :)
PS: I only found this page (hell, let's just call it an Easter Egg!) myself a few months back when @Ole Marius Myrvold mentioned his own world ranking on a Welsh stage in the Escort and I asked him how he could see it...

how you compare times with wrc and group b cars and with other drivers in this group with our own custom rally?
Simply by making the same stages in the same weather, and then clicking on the league page on the dirtgame website to see their times... (I normally do this with a personal league, but I think custom rally would work and is probably quicker.)

I have searched the rules a couple of times now and couldn't find an answer, so i'll just ask. What will happen if two drivers end up on the same point in the championship? Will you separate them, and in that case how? Or will they just share the position? @Ole Marius Myrvold @Neil rdrc

LOL, maybe I should change my username :)
At first I thought you asked me because I'm on the same number of points as you (but actually I now see that we're on slightly different points in the overall and of course you're winning the 2+ :D).
But then the penny dropped - that my rather poor choice of username is coming back to bite me. Hehe...
I'm just a noob here and have nothing to do with organising the RDRC, sorry
(As you can probably guess, my original choice of username was taken, and I got lazy when trying to disambiguate :p)

Hmm, for some reason I thought this was covered in the RD Racing League Regulations, but it's not - and to add to that, I didn't think of the fact that non-premium members will not have access to that part of the forum.

A Directors Note will come on that in the next 24 hours :)

As per the Directors Note thread.

Rule Changes 03/05-17 23:20 GMT+2

(added rule) 14 - Dead Heat
In the case of a dead heat in the championship (equal amount of points after all rallies are finished) the order will be decided as following:
a) Number of 1st places, if that is the same, the number of 2nd places, if that is the same the number of 3rd and so on, until a winner emerges.
If this fails to produce a winner it will be decided on
b) The number of rallies participated(highest number will be placed ahead),
if this is the same amount it will be decided on
c) The result of the last rally.

The reasoning behind this is that we try to follow the same rules as the FIA have set out, the realizing the FIA's rules are pretty small. They have the same rule as we have as rule "a". And then end with "In the event of a further tie, the FIA itself will decide the winner and decide between any other tying drivers and co-drivers, on the basis of whatever other considerations it thinks appropriate."
We felt that wasn't good enough.
We would like to give a little bonus to the drivers who have participated in the whole seasons, which is why we added our rule "b". Then the idea behind the "c" is that the last result shows the current form. While this also is depending on surface, class etc. We also realized that if two or more drivers have the exact same results, and done the exact same rallies, then finding some way to separate the drivers will be very hard. And I highly doubt that we will see any situation that forces "b" or "c".
