UTZER WINS AMONGST MONTREAL MADNESS
05 - Canada - Race.png

Ben Utzer became the first driver to win in all 3 seasons of Formula FG with a strong drive from the front in Montreal. Leading for every lap bar one during pit stops, the German silenced the critics with a masterclass in the changing conditions.
Stephan Bohner kept the fans screaming with second for home team N-Tech, the Dutch driver never really having the pace to challenge Utzer from so far back. Nathan Cornes extends his lead with a third place after going over the final chicane early in the race.
The final chicane was indeed a talking point, Rob Sharp found out the hard way on the first lap, and over the following 52, so did Jack Laskey feat. Daniel Harvey, Jamie Cocks, Joel Rautavaara (caused his later problem no doubt), and James McNamara. Cocks especially was probably looking strong for challenging the lead of the race, but his spin took him out of that running. He finished 5th behind Rui Martins, and with Pablo Diehl behind in 6th, the Ravenwest team enjoyed another strong day.
Donald Brugman saw the line in 7th ahead of Takuma Ishikawa, before Andy Graham broke his hoodoo and finished in a strong 9th for the Brit. Aaron Reed took his new look RD around into 10th for the final point.
The JHRs were strong in 11th and 13th, not quite enough for points, Harvey took 12th while Tapio Rinneaho struggled with his Falcon to 14th and final finisher. McNamara, Laskey and Sharp all retired to accidents, engine failures for Kederer and Costello, puncture for Ana, suspension for Rautavaara and transmission for Sigoulakis.
Focus now moves to Donington for the European Grand Prix, Marketplace closes Thursday 10am AEDT.

@Milos Got the win today, but with the second car failing from such a strong position, is it as great as it should have been? Also, can you confirm if it was related to Joel touching the Wall of Champions at all?
@William Néron Second and fifth at your home race, happy or disappointed that it could have been more?
@Andy 'Mars Bar' Graham Happy? or better than that??
@Azabadaza @XenForo New look car and a good result for you. Confidence still at RD?
@Jamie Cocks Disappointed about that spin?
@Lesley Buurlage Ravenwest are really getting some momentum now, what are the goals in the next few races?

exactly, not as good as it should have been, leaves a really bittersweet taste, and as our rivals Razor had a double points finish and Cornes extends his championship lead, it makes it even worse. We'll be hoping to bring 2 cars to the line next time out.
The failure was not related to his contact.
