Sound files in mods downloaded Jag 4.2, shows in game but does not have engine sounds and not listed in folder TC-65.
I did find the sound folder in GTC-65 so I'm confused this has happened before with other cars my son sorted that for me but he's working away so a bit lost on this ?

I did download to gamedata\teams\tc-65

THE SOUND IS IN ONDER GAME DATA AND THAN FOLDER SOUND AND THAN IN FOLDER CARS BY ME.

Ok Paul, it seems you have installed the mod incorrectly my friend. All you needed to do was unpack the file into the GTL folder of your game and all would have been installed correctly. As for the sound folder, it goes under Gamedata/Sounds/Cars/MKII_4.2_SA.

I can't find a solution to this, but I am sure its a simple one that I have seen somewhere in a Simbin title before, so any pointers would be great.

It concerns my 'guest pc' (the one visitors use for racing). A couple of nights ago a friend and I were racing a LAN game and he chose the Ford Escort Y151, we had a few races and some fun - all great. Last night he arrives and we decide to have a race - now whatever car and whichever track we choose its always that same Blue Escort it just wont go away! Its not just the Image of the Escort either, at first I thought it might be loading the correct car but with the Escort body, but no its the escort engine and gear box... Any ideas?

Hmm - the plot thickens - If I go to Cup Challenge - Cup Stage A - Battle of the Mini (minis only) the eligible teams listed are Austin Mini Cooper S and Ford Escort 1300GT ! I can select a Mini and arrive on track in a Mini - but opponents consist of Minis and Escorts!

Switch back to Single Race choose a car and arrives on track in .... you guessed it the Blue Escort!

Hello Dave, weve had these issues with other people and spent a long time trying to get these working ,, and failed most time or it came back very quickly..
Im sorry to say the quickest solution is a quick reinstall..your up and dunning in half an hour, were as you can waist well over a hour trying different things and still end up with a new install,,
You can try a new profile for a quick check.. but its probably something inside the gtl thats messed up

Thanks @Rupe - I did the new profile and it worked.

To get controller and car setups went to User Data - new user / broken user in Steam Common GTL and Cut the Broken User file and Pasted it to my desktop I then took the .plr file and the settings file from the broken user and put them into the new user, still in, GTL - renamed the new users .gal file to the broken users name and then renamed the New User file as the Broken users name.

Seems to be working so far.

I keep forgetting also that a validation of your game file in steam may also sort out people's problems,
Its as good as a reinstall, or it was in race 07

I have a little question to you guys. In the Saponaro race with the Jags I had a lot of stuttering throughout the race and it happened very consistently through the esses and less intense on other parts of the track. It was like a slideshow and it was hard to point the car in the right direction between each frame showing on the screen. I normally have a good framerate as a I have only have the one screen and a decent graphics card Nvidia 670. Anyone know any tips to reduce this stuttering?

As you know I had some issues with the Jag 4.2 install, I'm still showing DQ in garage area for all cars.
You did say to delete some game data files not sure if I've done this right, would it be best to delete all trace of Jag 4.2 ?

It seems your pc and graphics spec is not in question at all - I wasn't in the event so have not seen the track but given that the stuttering was worse in one particular place it could be caused by draw distance settings for either track or mirrors - if you have it maxed out and full detail some tracks with a lot of detail could cause stuttering as the pc works harder, even more so when the processor is under added load from generating FFB as well as telling the graphics what it should be drawing - maybe its just a problem you have with this one track?

Your post made me recall a post by Kennett (CreamK) some time ago in the Race07 forum where a small number of people had solved what they referred to as 'micro stutters' by running Steam in offline mode - apparently Steam would communicate from time to time and cause what looked like graphics stutters but were in reality stutters caused by Steam taking the games bandwidth or something.

Of course it could just have been a one off - I had some strange choppiness develop on FRAPS recording that wasn't there earlier after I had been using GIMP, virtualdub and all sorts of other stuff I can't remember right now to work on the RDHCS skin - something hogging memory even after the programs were closed maybe? I mention this because I know you had been editing a lot too so maybe they could be related?

Oh and on my problem above as soon as I selected the Escort I was stuck in the Escort again - fresh new profile created, no files copied, and seeing how it goes for now.

I get this too. I just create a new profile again and it clears itself. No idea why it does this or how to fix it permanently. I had the exact same problem with the Escort FVA mod in season 7 as well. I blame Ford!

G25 failing to Centre when self calibrating.

I'm not going to double post (as my posts do tend to ramble on a bit), but if your wheel will not centre despite repeated reboots and recalibrations try this.

Guys

Done a re-install to try and clear DQ showing in garage
removed Jag 4.2 which seemed to start issue
done back up of Userdata & config.ini
then delete local content from steam
re-install put back Userdata & config.ini
DQ still showing garage !

I got a bit of time for T/S if any one is on ?

Paul Bennett - I can't get on TS just now - but I will hazard a guess that the issue is in your copied UserData folder, and that's how the problem is becoming persistent across two unrelated installs.

What I would ask you to try is to:-
a) remove the Paul Bennett folder from UserData (save it away somewhere)
b) go into GTL and try and create a totally new Driver/Profile
c) go and check your DQ status using that new Driver

Let us know how you get on after that.
