WRC 9 is just around the corner, and one of the new locations set to make an appearance in the game is the New Zealand Rally - with some first preview imagery from the states now out in the public domain.

Set to release on console and PC in September this year, with next gen console release slated for a little while afterwards, the ninth instalment of the WRC game series (can you believe we are on number 9 already?!?) looks to be shaping up rather nicely over at KT Racing - so much so that the studio have decided to release some preview footage from an early build version of the title - and already it looks fantastic.

As per usual, the upcoming game enjoys the official licence of the FIA World Rally Championship, this time taking the opportunity to recreate the 2020 season that is currently on hold, and as such returning favourites such as the Safari Rally in Kenya, Rally Japan and the featured Rally New Zealand.

Roads in New-Zealand are amongst the most beautiful and the most appreciated in the Championship’s history.” tells Benoît Gomes, Lead Level Designer at KT Racing.

Famous for its fast chains of turns and a sustained pace rhythm, along with breath-taking landscapes, Rally New-Zealand truly offers a particular experience. A long preparation work allowed us to replicate, as closely as possible, the luxuriant vegetation, the light and unique ocean views, as well as the road’s topography and surfaces, mainly composed of gravel. We’re convinced that players will enjoy taking up this challenge as much as we did in WRC 9.” concludes Benoît Gomes.

WRC 9 Key Features:
  • 3 new rallies: Japan, New Zealand, Kenya
  • Over 50 official teams and their livery from the WRC, WRC 2, WRC 3 and Junior WRC
  • Over 15 bonus cars that have left their mark on the history of the WRC
  • Exclusive new game modes soon to be discovered

WRC 9 will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC this September 3rd.

@Kenny Paton That's also ReShade. I don't think you can make a similar adjustment in game. You might be able to do it using the nVidia filters thing if you have GeForce experience and the game is supported (it's basically ReShade, but integrated by nVidia into their overlay stuff).

I purchased a deluxe version of WRC 9 and was provided just one code - my activation code. Importantly, I wasn't given a promotional code in order to redeem my 3 months of free access to WRC+. Does anyone know how this is done..? I did contact Kylotonn but they haven't replied yet.

Just installed WRC 9 a couple days ago. Waiting for my RSeat handbrake upgrade kit so I can mount the Thrustmaster TSS Handbrake to my rig. Sucks trying to use a button on my wheel to get around a hairpin

First time with this series. I've spent the last several years on nothing but Kunos titles. My love for Rally goes way back. I remember BugBear's Rally Trophy was a blast back in the day. WRC 9 is amazing. I actually downloaded and installed WRC 8 on Steam and played for like 2 hours thinking it was the latest iteration. Then when searching for discussion I learned that WRC 9 was available via Epic Games. Quick upgrade cycle! What a difference between 8 and 9. The physics and force feedback are greatly improved, IMHO.

Question: When you guys execute the game, do you get a flash of a blank window just prior to going in? Kind of annoying. But trivial in the scheme of things I guess. If you know of a way to make it go away that would be sweet.

Seriously?
Ok. I was over the top. The game is an amazing piece of work or I wouldn't be here looking for somebody else to talk about it with. Surprised that all I could find was a thread on /Other Racing Games/ here. This title deserves more attention than it seems to be getting. Honestly, the stupid window thing is probably attributable to Epic's launcher. I did say "trivial"

Are any of you dialing the wheel sensitivity up in game? I feel like the initial wheel response is very sluggish. Also, is it recommended to match wheel rotation in your device software and in game, or let the game soft lock? Thanks!

For me when i first played WRC 8 i just kept reducing the wheel rotation in game until i got the response i was after and that ended up being 200 deg in game and Auto on the wheel (Fanatec v2.5).
I carried this over to WRC 9 and it feels the same to me and it's what i drive with and feels good to me.

Yes WRC 9 is awesome , car handling , FFB , sound and graphics have improved over WRC 8.
The sense of speed is unbeatable and the fun factor is very high.

Hi! Has anybody found fix for missing FFB with not so common wheels? I have Arduino-based FFB-wheel and I got FFB working with DR2 just adding 'device-id' to one config file, or so. I red that some problems with Logitech-wheels got fixed by reg-editing... You think i could cheat with that ?

Buttons and axis are configured/working ok, but FFB-test and wheel-angle are greyed out....

Looks like a small 29mb update for some bug fixes.

An update for #WRC9 is now available on PC and PlayStation 4. • Fixed the issue that would make invisible some Clubs Please note that we are working on adding this solution to the Clubs on Xbox One. We’ll keep you updated as soon as this fix is available!

Good news the mouse now seems to work in all tiles.

Seems as though the game won't save any changes to wheel rotation or ffb settings that I make. I've lowered my rotation to 270 in wheel software and it feels alright. Ffb is present, but would be nice to make some adjustments. I tried running the wrc9.exe as admin, but the epic launcher didn't like that. Any ideas?

Also, I'm running an Accuforce v2 with csw v3 pedals.

I had the same problem with my wheel (G25) I found that by unplugging it and then replugging it worked, there may be more issues with a different wheel of course.
I also found that it defaulted to keyboard until I deleted other inputs.
Hope that helps.
