Hey guys

Okay here are the skins created by me over the last few weeks.

38 in total, 19 Chevrolet and 19 Peugeot.

All completely fictional of course, but I hope you enjoy them.

I have given all the cars different numbers and names from the originals in game, so you should be able to run them alongside the original skins.

Pretty new to the modding aspect on the rfactor platform, and this is my first attempt.

Haven't found a way to have the game read a new RFM file hence the reason for the new numbers and names.

Hope you enjoy them........happy racing fellas!

;)

@Morne Du Plooy The RealFeel file (at work, cannot work out the exact name for you) is different for this mod than the default RealFeel file that comes with GSC and from what I understand, this file determines the FFB strength/levels, etc. And naturally, the realfeel for this mod does make the FFB feel more loose and as you say, as if there is no FFB at all.

From what I have done/tried, you have the following options
  • Replace the realfeel in the mod with the default that comes with GSC.
  • Increasing the FFB rate in game or moving it from Medium to High or Max (I use Medium FFB).
  • Depending on your wheel, you can also try increasing the Damper by about 10% in the wheel settings
I did some test runs last night with both realfeel files and I prefer the one that comes with the mod. For me, the default realfeel is too strong and I find it difficult to turn the wheel easily enough to get the wheel to turn.

I dont have any other suggestions or any real idea on how you could modify the file to get the right balance in FFB. It does take a while to get used to but I found that eventually I was getting used to it.

Thanks for your reply @Warren Schembri I will try swap the files and see which is better.
Doesn't increasing the damper, take away some of the "road effects"?

After a bit of testing, I've found these settings in your realfeel.ini make it feel better
Code:
MaxForceAtSteeringRack=-1320.000000
SteeringDamper=11500.000000
FFBMixerRealFeelPercent=50.000000
Still not as good the original GSC, but better

Just found this in a realfeel help page
A SPECIAL NOTE!! The RealFeel plugin's force is most dependent on the suspension CASTER of the car you are using. The higher the caster the stronger the force you will have straitening the wheels out at speed. If you find a car has severely low or high FFB. Instead of putting the Strength below 1000 or raising the divider above 8-9000 and risking over/under modulation try to adjust the Caster in the advanced tab to ~4-8 degrees. An example of Caster being an issue is the V8 Supercars use 15° of caster which is VERY HIGH. I set it to 7° and it was much easier to adjust the FFB correctly.

What wheel do you use @Troy Barman . I have a G27, and the FFB was weak, and very sloppy around the center. I was out this evening, but I'm going to try adjusting the
FFBMixerRealFeelPercent and see if it makes a difference

Hello,

OK ... I'm stupid I know ..but I just installed the mod like anything else (got the game yesterday) and I didn't make any copy of the original game. I had some mods and tracks installed before. Now everything seems to work fine still. (don't know about the ffb on the original cars)

Do you have any ideas for the future, what should I do now? .... should I download the original files again and install a fresh copy, or what?

Thanks

You dont have to do another installation of GSC but i would suggest you do. I have an install just for the Blancpain mod and the other is an original install with a few mods on it.

Ok. But should I remove the other mods and tracks from the Blancpain install- version of the game?

Can I copy the player. plr file to the new install? What else can I copy?

Sorry for the noob questions :)

Thanks

Hi,

If you go to page 3 of this thread, top post, you'll see some instructions on how to install and config the mod properly. You can copy over your PLR, yes, and you can add tracks into your GameData/Locations like normal.

I have put these lines inside my Realfeel.ini and the mod is working pretty fine with my G25:

Guys please help me with this one as it really breaks one of my favourite cars. Talking about the audi rev lights. They are a pain to distinguish if they are lit or not. But in one of the races these rev lights appeared out of nowhere.
GRAB_000.JPG

instead of
GRAB_001.JPG

But for the life of me I cannot get those rev lights again. i tried all the different audis in the mod but to no avail. Was it a bug? Or can I really use those lights(the white ones)

Please help :)

I have tried them all. The one I was in when I had the white lights is the belgiun R8. I ve seen the replay so I am pretty sure. Also strange thing is that in the replay all the other audis on the grid(one with the same livery, one not the same) they all had the white rev lights... Go figure

Now I don't know if that was that they were really seeing in front of their computers. It's just what i saw in their cockpits in the replay
