sim racing coach button box issue ? windows usb issue ?

got a bit of a strange one
I have a src button box however i seem to be having an issue where the buttons are no longer responding in windows.

I have reinstalled windows and the buttons started working again only for them to stop shortly after. windows sees the button box but no button press, if i change usb port then either the same happens or the buttons might work but after a few button presses they stop working again. If i plug in to my laptop and try it all seems to work fine. I think its more of a windows issue but no idea whats going on really. Anyone have any ideas ?

USB power saving settings perhaps. Have you disabled the USB suspend settings for the port that you are using for the button box?

If it isn't that, you could try comparing the drivers that are being used via Windows device manager.

I'm wondering if you'll see a difference between the laptop and desktop.

well i did try the usb settings before , however tried it again and now seems to be working , guess i missed a step or option last time. oops
