How are you going to manage drivers 'hot swapping'?

That is using a single pc and the drivers just swapping in situ. This would mean that the in-game name stays the same.

Road America for me, i cant stand the place but its better suited for class racing. Rouen is a cool track but is too high speed and if a LMP catches a GT2 in the wrong place we will more than likely have a incident.

After having competed in several GPL and FIA GT leagues, we have decided to make an entry for endurance races. We are looking forward to the challenge.

Can I just make a suggestion that we use team names and class instead of driver names when we join the server.

For example: If a team is called 'Team Fast' and has a GT1 cat with 3 drivers then they would use:

Team Fast GT1 #1
Team Fast GT1 #2
Team Fast GT1 #3

when they join the server.

This would achieve a few things:

1. It would emphasis that this is a team event.
2. It would indicate which class a car is in.
3. It would enable other drivers/admins to keep track of rival teams on the track without having to learn all the names of every driver and which team they drive for.

There would need to be a thread which does llink driver to login name.

Having driven endurance events using the GTP mod for N2K3 where you had to use the same login name and in other rFactor events where drivers use there own names , I know that, as a driver, taking over a car after having my rest period in a long race, it is much easier to get back up to speed with what is happening using the former. For example,

When I left we were 1.5 secs behind Whacky Racers GT2 #1 and three secs in front of Team Fast GT2 #2, now we're 2 secs behind Team Fast GT2 #3 and 12 secs in front of Whacky Racers GT2 #2

rather than

When I left we were 1.5 secs behind Jim Redman and three secs in front of Derek Bell, now we're 2 secs behind Tom Kristensen and 12 secs in front of Alan McNish

Just a thought

We always drive with real names on the server. Also there will be a broadcast that needs driver names over teamnames.

Liveries are a great way to show the team imo

But thanks for the suggestions

Nice idea Lee but I personally wouldn't like it. I like to know who I am racing against and it would make commentating a little harder as you wouldn't instantly know who was behind the wheel. Also - when watching the broadcast or replay back I like to know who is behind the wheel (it helps build up a profile of how each driver behaves on track).

Again - nice idea but I would prefer we stuck with names :).
