Sector3 Studios have released a preview video of the new F4 Tatuus open wheel car due to be released for RaceRoom Racing Experience in the coming days and weeks.

Sector3 have steadily increased open wheel content recently with the inclusion of a GP2 level Formula RaceRoom 2 series and the more entry level Formula Ford styled Formula RaceRoom Junior in recent months.

Continuing the open wheel theme, Sector3 are now drawing ever closer to releasing their first officially licenced single seater car in the form of the F4 specification Tatuus.

Traditionally a category slightly above the hugely popular and diverse Formula Ford championships around the world, the FIA created the Formula 4 series as a stepping stone in the competitive open wheel racing ranks. Aiming to provide a low cost single chassis formula that can be adopted internationally and with a host of well filled out grids of talented young drivers, Formula 4 offers a viable option to those with an eye on progressing up the professional racing ladder.

Featuring fibre glass bodywork and powered by a number of different engines from the Fiat Abarth Turbocharged 1.4L, 160 hp engine used predominantly in Italy to the trusted Cosworth F4-016 in the UK. Formula 4 is focused on close racing and allowing drivers to hone their skills and racecraft in a cost effect, high-downforce car.

A release of the F4 Tatuus is expected very soon. Keep an eye out in the in game store over the coming days and weeks.

They are a lot of fun to drive.

I guess some people may not enjoy open wheel cars but I think the Tatuus strike a good balance between power, weight, mechanical grip and downforce.
