THE Return of David Buxton!!!!

With an outstanding drive against Honk and Sebastien, he returned to the top. Also he gained a +1 pos bonus for the next race.

Mclaren now aims the 2nd position in the championship. The Last two races are pregnant to lots of surprises and battles even we have the driver's champion.

~Race Report~

~REPORT~

·Pre Race: After Qualifying, Viljar Parts was found guilty of running underweight, and has been disqualified. Parts said “It wasn’t deliberate, but these things happen.”

·Lap 1: Go Go Go! Great start from Buxton’s midfield McLaren, weaving in and out of the slower starting cars. Levret struggles under very heavy breaking and loses the lead to Honk.

·Lap 4: Kyle Evers spins and hits the wall at Turn 3, from suspected brake failure. The Safety Car comes out. McLaren team radio “Matthew, Evers has done a Buxton at Turn 3. Safety Car, keep the tyres warm.”

·Lap 13: Race Restarts. Buxton, outbreaks Levret AND Honk, shooting into a lead. Instantly he starts to pull away, the McLaren’s are in superb form at the moment.

·Lap 25: Buxton pits, and escapes just ahead of Levret’s Sauber, who has yet to pit, meaning he was a massive two seconds a lap quicker, this race is surely now over?

·Lap 31: Fourth Place Gutteridge has a left-front puncture! Gutteridge is forced to pit for a new tyre.

·Lap 43: Jaguar team radio: Dave, you have a terminal suspension problem. Pit this lap.

·Lap 49: Gutteridge is now pushing like mad, jumping through the midfield like there is no tomorrow! He sniffs a point for sure here.

·Lap 53: And David Buxton takes the chequered flag. Ron Dennis can hardly believe it. A season of heartache is being totally turned around by two successive wins. McLaren Team Radio: WooHoo! Yes! We did it! Well Done Buxie! Pick up rubber on the way in.

·Post Race: On the podium, Buxton wipes back the tears, with Champion Sebastien Levret, and runner-up Honk flanking him. Ron Dennis says “Two wins out of two! We Can get third, I know we can!”

The penultimate round of the 2002 championship will take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. More famous for its Stock Car and Indy Car racing than its F1 Race, it nevertheless provides a challenge for the drivers, and with its long straight and tight infield section, overtaking is a real possiblility.
