Well, well, well.. not the best of races for me ;)

I tried to change my Okayama setup to fit this, realized it wouldn't quite work out, loaded the Simbin, changed it a bit and went into practice session #2. Practice and quals went okay and I managed to qualified with a satisfactory time.
Unfortunately, the race didn't went as smooth with me testing the Mini's durability - I badly screwed up first lap's Aremberg (without hitting anyone, thankfully) and fell behind quickly as I managed to hit more grass patches, kerbs and walls as a result ;)
Went in for an early pit stop at the end of lap 3 due to some collected damage but couldn't reach my qualifying speed at all.
It wasn't until the 5th or 6th lap that I noticed I had forgotten about setting up tyre pressure resulting in my central tyre temp being way too low - no idea on the actual effect in the mini, but oh well - embraced the remaining laps as Nordschleife/used-tyres training laps and finished in P8.

Let's see how tomorrow works out, and as much as I (still :D) love this track, I'm kind of looking forward to next week ;P

Wow, that was worth a few beers, one of which is getting smaller by the minute!

I guess if you were in this race and didn't know Nord's very well, you certainly did by the end. Lot's of laps!

The Mini was squirrely thru practice but I did get it down to only my errors taking off track
All I can really remember is that I wan't that lonely on track very much. L2 and Justin caught back up just as I was catching Gasper, he got by on the way up to the carousel when I had to bak off to let Gasper through. The rest of that lap was a tight fight with a great drafting effort by Justin and myself to close on Gasper. At Aremberg I got inside as Gasper flinched, Justin was already by and going away. Gasper and I kept it up to the end of the lap. I had it easy for a lap then Krzysztof began to close as we raced for the pits. I got wide out of Wipperman and he had to run into me, while waiting for himto get going Nelson passed us both:(. In and out of the pit, I'm on Nelson, he's off at the little downhill hairpin. He's back on my case quickly and drafting me on the straight, I have to give way in the braking zone. I stay really close and he's off at the forest chicane. I can pull out as Gasper and Krzysztof move up on him! No DRS for Nelson and I have a chance to just plain drive as Gasper catches him, not long to go now! The N-G-K battle goes on behind me to the end allowing me to breathe :):):)

Well done for the Team Margarita/ Easy Pass BMW Mini Cooper !

@Wayne Hammond , nice skin, lets see it up in the pack :geek:

Grats to all that finished this tough one!

Well that was a tough race, been a while since I raced minis on this track, forgot where all the brake points were and didn't have any practice during the week, and it showed, then my g27 started playing up, tried resetting everything to default, bad decision, made it even worse, so was panicking to find best setting again but to no avail, decided to muddle on to practice pitstops and button mapping as I haven't raced much of late, lonliest race of my life at the back, he!he!, nearly got lapped, thank God that didn't happen. Back for more in 2 weeks. Thanks for waiting until the bitter end Dennis.:)
