Slightly Mad Studios have released yet more gameplay footage from the upcoming Project CARS 3 videogame, this time onboard the stunning Porsche 935 at the German Leipzig test track.
  • Project CARS 3 set to release late August.
  • New video on and off board at the German Leipzig track.

As we get ever closer to release month for the new Project CARS 3 racing game, the development team behind the latest release in the franchise have dropped a brand new gameplay video - showcasing the 2019 issue Porsche 935 on a hot lap of the Leipzig Test Track in Germany.

The next Project CARS game has a slightly different flavour than recent editions in the franchise, as Slightly Mad Studios look to open up the game to a wider audience than was previously possible with their simulation focused first two releases. However, despite the addition of various arcade gameplay features, the studio remain adamant that the new title can also appeal to sim racers, with the aid of various game setting tweaks to bring back simulation type handling and performance aspects.

In order to help the community better understand how the game might feel once out on the track, a number of different gameplay videos are set to be released in the coming weeks ahead of launch day, of which the video below is the latest instalment:

The lap of Leipzig joins the already released earlier preview of a 2019 IndyCar at Laguna Seca, and a short trailer of a Corvette on the Interlargos track - all of which are aimed to give players a little bit more insight into how the cars are set to behave out on the track.

So, what do you think of the latest gameplay video? Like the look of the title so far? Excited for release? Let us know in the comments section below!

In other Project CARS 3 news, the studio are soon to release a full list of both cars and circuits set to form the base release version of the title. We've already seen some preview images and footage from such locations as Laguna Seca and Interlargos, plus cars such as the above McLaren and the 2019 Dallara IndyCar, so it will be interesting to see what other content is set to form the initial launch spec of the title once it releases this August 28th - stay tuned for more info!

Project CARS 3 will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC this summer.

graphically these games hold up against any game out there on the market visually they are totally stunning, physically driving id rather waste the very limited time I have playing other games such as say AC-ACC-IR-R3E-RF2 and so on,
Why do we have to keep getting back to this? We got it. You guys love your SIMULATORS. We got it 100%. The message is clear. Why do you feel that you HAVE to repeat this over and over and over? You're not proving anything by stating your dislike towards the PCars franchise with any given chance.

Hey man it’s not an argument I’m not here for this I left 1 comment this be my last.

For the majority, one hour racers are not only "endurance" but "SURVIVAL". Most people who play racing games aren't really into actually driving the same car and same track for an hour or even longer. They want their races short and sweet. But it's ok...you don't seem to be willing to accept this as a fact, you want to believe what you want to believe so...done.

Absolute nonsense. That's your opinion, not the opinion of "most people". I find it quite ironic that you accuse others of believing what they want to believe, when that is clearly what you yourself are doing. Your word and opinion is not fact, sir.

Everybody on this forum has a right to state their opinions if they choose to, so stop trying to stifle other people. YOU have made more posts in this thread than any other individual, so how about you practice what you preach and let others have THEIR say? We get your opinion, you've stated it enough. Have the respect to allow others to state theirs, even if YOU personally don't agree with them.

I never said I liked or disliked anything,
Simply mentioned with the limited time I have I prefer other titles,

yes in a ideal world if I had 40/50hrs a week to play games by all means I would play pc2 it’s fun and entertaining to play looks amazing,

just prefer with very limited time to play something I enjoy more and that’s it nothing else.

Part of me thinks that that looks like waaay too much car for that circuit? It's based on a tweaked 911 GT2 RS, right?

Nice too see the car porpoising a bit in one of the trackside cam-shots; with how SMS have described the interaction between the driveline and the tyre model simulations (adding more elasticity and damping to the driveline, thus freeing up the tyre-model to not have to work around the micro-slippage that having too stiff a driveline would add), the car looks very much like cars do when you watch non-sim tin-top GT3 and GT4 racing cars from trackside cams.

If you pay attention, you can even hear that the engine sound is wobbling in response to the driveline and traction status.

I'm hoping that locking (parts of) the tyre thermodynamics sim to the optimal range (as SMS have stated is done in PC3) will allow SMS to get a better handle on the other parts of the physics engine subsystems that need tweaking and TLC.

Who knows, this might even allow them to turn back on the thermodynamics sim across the entire tyre<->rim<->brake-disc system sometime in the future.

Yes this looks better but it makes the game seem more disjointed to me. Because if you can drive with those physics, then removing pit stops really makes no sense. On-the-fly tire changing makes weather practically cosmetic, and heavier more powerful cars now have little downsides with constantly optimal grip. Or am I wrong?

So to me it seems with PC2 physics being carried over despite the arcadey environment of this new installment.. it feels like its grandfathered in as a secondary feature more than if the game was actually built around it.

So yeah, i heard some first honest impression and saw a bit of first look footage right now.

It's definetly not the right title for me, personally. I would say, if you like GRID, Dirt series (without the Rallye in the name), Forza or something similar, it could be definetly worth a look. (I don't think it could dethrone a Forza Motorsports 4 for me in this department of genre, i still wish, FM4 would be officially released for PC. :D )

Don't expect the full blown racing simulation experience (also not always driving wise), expect a fun racer, to hop in, without having any preparation, but maybe still experiencing progression in single player and fun racing.

It's definetly a different direction, pCars3 heads to, now.^^ Many people here care for simulations, pCars3 will probably not fullfill the wishes of the "all-out-techie-hardcore-simmers". And that's fine. There is a lot of other more attractive stuff for this group of players. :) (Disappointing, though, for the people, that liked pCars 1&2 for the initial idea it was once heading to)

I don't think of tyre wear as a hardcore sim element. It's a fun additional challenge to a race of any length. Or it would be.

What I appreciate is the apparent effort and emphasis put into the single player campaign. I like completing challenges, unlocking achievements, and being introduced to the content. A lot of sims forgo the "game" aspect of the game too readily.

As a sim racer, I can find the time and place for a fun arcade-oriented game. Whether it will be this one, I don't know.

Why do you have to keep telling us you don't care about sims and you are rather into arcade. We got it the first time.

It could even be arcade, and be good, i just saw Chris preview and.... seems PC3 is just PC2 with a nicer interface and some better designed career mode (and alot of shortcuts) , when Chris says Still drives like PC2... that for me is the only review i need to know what to think about it in the end of the day :)

Air Balloons, a must have for every decent racing game ;-)
Said that, it doesn't look like PCars3 is something I would be interested in. According to PCars3 I belong to the dying Dinosaurs of Endurance racing who have a love for qualifying, pit stop strategies and the excitement of day/night racing with Prototypes.
I'm pretty sure PCars3 will do well, it just isn't for me.
