PC2 PC 2 Physics

Please i have watched some youtube videos , graphics are impresive (betther than PC: amazing work), BUT the real question is HOW ABOUT the physics??, and actually to which actual game it could be compared in term of physics?

Thank you guys.

I think you might find you are in the minority there.

Surely if AC had the money, staff and marketing budget they could do just as good a job.

This is no criticism of the PCARS team or their games, they are for a slightly different market. My point is simply that with everything else equal, cars, tracks, price then for most PC players AC would win hands down.

Nice post! Could you tell me/us a few of the "awesome" cars and maybe the awesome tracks to bundle them? Wanna test pcars 2 but not really have time to tinker around much :)
Thanks in advance!

I think the Nordschleife is one of the best tracks to feel the physics of any car, even IRL, so i name just the cars i remembered to be nice to awesome:
-Ferrari 330 P4
-Ferrari 488 GT3
-Lamborghini Huracan GT3
-BMW M6 GT3
-Porsche 911 R GT3
-Porsche 911 GT1
-Ferrari F50 LM GT1
-Nissan Skyline Group A
-Ford Escort Group A
-McLaren 720S
-Nissan GTR
-KTM X-Bow GT4
-Modern Indycar

Some cars seems okay, but didn't like them that much:
-Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe S
-LaFerrari
-Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
-Nissan GTP ZX
-BMW M30 Group A

Seems easier for me to list the cars i didn't like or in this case, find even kind of broken:
-Porsche Cayman
-Mercedes 190 Group A
-Formula Rookie

So still a lot of cars left i have to check out

As a reference if AC had the same tracks and content as PCARS 2 there would be literally no contest.

That is a fact surely we can all agree on?
No, the cars i find awesome in pCars 2 are IMO better than in AC, if they are in both titles. The tyre-model is just on a higher level and i'm glad i own the equipment to feel this.

Caterham at any twisty track, Brands Hatch, Cadwell whatever you like. Also Ferrari 488, F3.5 wherever you like. Redbull ring in nice for TCars and gt3s.

@Leynad777
So you like the 330 P4 boat? I thought it was a weird car, maybe just not my cup of tea.

I like this car in both sims and first it was a tie between better FFB in AC, but clearly better tyre-flex physics in pCars 2. The next day i got full Sim Commander support, tried it again and the winner is pCars 2. That's why i implied that my equipment was the game-changer respectively the SC-plugin. Before i tried to get better FFB in the settings and since SC is running with SimVibe i don't care. It's awesome as it is and my "never change a running system"-habit kicked in.

How do you guys have so different impressions on ffb and physics then me? I can't feel **** in pc2. I tried all different setting with ffb. Also braking is so weird and road cars are locking even if I am barely touching the pedal. Everything feels completely unnatural. In AC I can feel everything, I can pinpoint a car, fight for 0.001 of a secund. In pc2 it is like drving blind. Please enlighten me how is that possible?

Physics? What physics? Oh you mean that crappy engine ported from NFS Shift? Yeah they still use it, unfortunately.

What's the name again...Slightly Mad Studios? Yeah...trying to to achieve something different by doing the same thing over and over is...slightly mad...

I just had a blast with Ligier JS P2 Honda @ COTA, awesome combo, as a LMP lover i can say finally a prototype that behaves like a prototype! I'm gonna move in the trash all the broken LMP's mods i have installed in rF2, AMS etc.

Wow, have you really driven a real LMP car on a real race track? I envy you.:notworthy::notworthy:

Do you need to drive a real F1 car in a real track to know that cars in F1 2017 are arcade?
Do you need to drive a real F1 car in a real track to know that F1 cars in Automobilista are the most realistic?

Which F1 cars do you prefer, the one in AMS or the one in F1 2017?
What is the meaning of this thread so?

Well you said you now can drive a prototype that behaves like a prototype. I have never driven one so I couldn't make that call. I can pretend and presume it drives like a real one I suppose.

Well, you do...but you could get pretty close if:
1)you have some firsthand experience in driving sports cars or at least normal cars tuned for racing use
2)if you can get the feel by observing how an F1 car leans and behaves in the corners etc.
3)use all the above in combination with common logic
4)have excellent knowledge of how stuff works, especially suspensions and tyres

If you don't check all those 4 then you don't KNOW.... it's just pure speculation

It's easy actually.....
Gear, setup, and everyone has their own perception of what ffb should feel like. Ive had the chance to sit in several dev builds with Pro drivers and they will all tell you the same thing.
You can put 2 pros in the exact same car and setup and they will give 2 completely different feedbacks of how the car handles and feels.
Why?
Because not everyone uses the same details given through the ffb to get around the track as the next person. therefore nobody's right or wrong when talking about how a game feels. If you don't like the way game X feels go play game Y than.
End of the day there nothing more than video games here for our virtual entertainment :)

Regarding brakes, lower the brake sensitivity value. If I remember correctly, I lowered it from 50 to 35 and that made a complete difference...no more locking.
Regarding force feedback, I guess it's more complicated and subjective but I'd start by using the Raw flavour and play with the tone, volume and FX for a while.
I can totally feel the tires, I got a very similar feeling to RF2 which is my fave sim regarding ffb/physics.

I think the content is where AC lacks.

As a reference if AC had the same tracks and content as PCARS 2 there would be literally no contest.

By now I have more than double the cars and 3-4 times the tracks in AC than PCars 2, still I will probably spend more hours on PCars 2 once they sort out the AI issues.

IMO watching races should be enough to sort the bull:poop: out. And than there is common sense. Just was testing the Radical RXC Turbo on the Nordschleife and it is a absolute joy to drive. If i imagine driving this car with AC-tyres, i would first crash many times to sort out at which spots to be more careful. In pCars 2 my first lap was 3 sec. slower than the lap-record because it's easy to feel the limit and when touching it, i still can correct most of the time where i would hit the wall in AC.

Totally agree @Leynad777 and your point about quality of wheels/pedals being used is very relevant. The fact is higher end wheels, especially DD, do have more fidelity and allow you to feel more detail from the track via the tires when tuned properly, this is enhanced in pC2 due to the superb updates the tire model has received and the custom FFB files Jack Spade provided have really improved the FFB by a considerable margin.

I really love the older more powerful cars without all the modern abs/tcs etc. as you really do feel the raw power on tracks such as Nords and can really feel the life in the tire as it gradually heats up and the grip changes when you lean on them through the corners, throttle control becomes so important, simply brilliant. :)

Τhe mod cars and tracks that are worth keeping in AC for me, are not more than 10, with tracks I can be a little more forgiving. Most of the cars are token cars, but the ones from VRC and ASR are really high quality.
