This is my first track. I've raced the track in real life. It's pretty close, but still needs some work, but I've stalled on working on it lately. Main things are smoothing some bumps and fixing camber in some places. If anyone is interested in working on it, I can send you all the files for RTB.
 
There is quality Aerial LiDAR for Palmer. I don't have any plans to do it but really it is the only way to get a truly accurate version of the track. My last experience there was more than miserable so I don't have any motivation to make it. I've heard it is possible to bring LiDAR data into RTB but I don't use it so I don't know for sure.

Thanks for doing this. I talked to the owner on a recent event, he seemed pretty agreeable to support making digital versions of the track. I didn't directly discuss access with laser rangefinders, my hunch is it would be possible.

There is more than enough data shown above to build the track accurately.

Was my cousins bachelor party and he was running his 86 300zx track car. Was a very hot and humid day in July. In the 3rd session on day 1 a rock/boulder went through the screen in front of the radiator and popped a hole in it. As a group we thought we could salvage the trip and repair the radiator. We took the entire nose apart in the gravel paddock in the high heat and successfully repaired the radiator. We got it all back together for day 2. We made it two sessions when a small coolant hose exploded at the back of the engine ending the trip. Overall it is an experience I would like to forget.

Well that is unfortunate. I live nearby and never heard of the track until this mod came out, I was thinking about going but hearing this is concerning.
 
I can't believe I'm seeing this track on Race Department! This is my local track too...It is unfortunate that the author doesn't seem to have the time to complete it. I don't have RTB, just 3ds max - but I have zero track building experience, otherwise I'd give it a shot. :(

You've really nailed the general feel of the track, from what I remember of it. It's been over 2 years since I've had the pleasure of visiting the race track. I know a lot of residents of Palmer were crying about this track (probably noise?) and I was afraid it would get shut down. They should have built the casino in Palmer, but that's another matter altogether.

I highly recommend this video to drivers or builders of the track. The author does a fantastic job of explaining each corner, however, you need to pause the video for most of them because you won't be able to read all of the text - he didn't insert a long enough pause for just about every turn. It would be awesome to have the cones in a digital version of this track.
 
FWIW, the AC track is driveable after you tell zip to ignore the error.

The real track is probably not directly at fault wrt the stones.
 
Didn't say I blamed the track just that I had a miserable experience. But when people go off its well known large rocks get kicked up.

As for track accuracy I was able to compare to the data and it's pretty far off. between the S/F line and T1 the mod ends up 30' too high and is off the rest of the way around.

It's a good start for a track but it is simply built on bad data.

Wow! It's 30 feet too high? Damn...I know it's been over 2 years since I've visited, but I can't believe I didn't pick up on that. Although, we weren't allowed to blast down the S/F straight (I know its not really straight). We were instructed to come into the pit area at the end of a lap. On this digital version, I was instantly reminded of the off-camber turns the real track has in the beginning of the track. Wide sweeping turns that never seen to end is another trait I thought he nailed...although I can't attest to any accuracy as it appears it wasn't built off of the real data, according to what you've shown. Palmer & Riverside Park's 1/8 mile oval are the only two tracks I've ever driven on IRL. :( :redface:
