PC1 Jim's View Two weeks in...........positive vibe in here

Well........ what a carry on lol! it's been an exciting 2 weeks here in the RD Project Cars forum. Who needs Eastenders or Coronation St when you have Race Department. So 2 weeks on and despite all the mud slinging, bitching, whining etc where are we at? It all started with a big uproar about FFB, it's ****, crap, game's boken, can't feel anything to now we have awesome ffb and graphics thanks to some members hard work. My ffb is too much now but I've invested a lot of time and read a lot of posts to try and understand what makes this game tick and I'm happy with it. Graphics have been a youtube study and I can now safely say, I get 60fps with 26 cars come rain, shine, thunderstorm whatever. Online has not been quite so giving for me but when we've managed to race (Sameclass) then it has been amazing and I mean amazing. Hopefully that will get sorted with the disconnects and the other issues. So all I can say is, people that like the game just get on and play it and to those that don't like it play something else. To me, this game is totally different to what's come before and in a better way and it will only get even better. Come on people let's all show PCars some love here :inlove:

Snappy,
I run on a similar schedule. We were chatting about starting our own late night events when possible.
Maybe I'll try to set something up next week. But in the mean time I'm going to try hoping on TS when i play so that people can come join if they feel like it. I just like to chat about it since I'm really new to sim racing and i appreciate all and any info i can get.
My Steam account name is Gtxtreem anyone feel free to add me and hit me up anytime to drive.

Some more good vibes from me. Loving those American muscle cars at the Glen.

I'm working on that as well. I just wish we'd get more people from North and South America to step up and do a race @NaCH and @XuCrUtZ, I can count on because I know them for a while and work on the same timezone as I do (ok, NaCH is on EST time, even if he's from Argentina). So as soon we get more people, I'll start doing some America events, basically on the same format as I was doing on my hosted races.

I'm on EST and will be interested in doing some online racing soon, maybe even setting up my own club (on another site). So, if there's a list being formed, add me to it! I get up early for work during the week so mid-evening is best for me, 7-8pm. Weekends are usually fairly free.

Sunday, Monday or Tuesday night at 8pm EST works best for me. Anyone okay with that time?

Here's the thing: these race events can chew up a whole lots of time. Between practice, quali, and warm up you have a lot of time burned up. Then, if your main event is an the longer side, you ar looking at another hour of racing. Total time can be up to two hours. A bit much on a week night.

So, I'm thinking a Sprint GT3 series:

10 min practice - practice more on your own or groups meet in lobbies to get more track time in
10 -15 minute Quali - depending on length of track (Spa vs Willow)
25 minute race - Sprint Series

Monday Nights...anyone?

Is this off topic?

That's exactly how I prefer my events. Short warm up, short qualifying, medium length race (or two medium length races if there's enough interest), everything done in a 60-90 minute window. That's how I used to run them back in my GT days. That time slot on those days works fine for me too.

Definitely feeling positive vibes from that schedule (<----attempting to be on topic :p )

I'm usually ready to race around 7 PM Mountain. So that time would work for me. I'm interested.
