Yeah it was a crazy race and we were a little lucky to finish on podium. That's what I wrote in a nutshell previously.

Former champ returns to the top
His previous win dated from the '97 British GP, now '94 champion Rui Martins has won again, beating Jack Hunsley by just 2 tenths of a second. Another 3 seconds behind came Omer Said to complete the podium.
At the start the top 3 remaind the same, Utzer jumped Kederer for 4th. Laad lost 2 places to the Jordans in the first few laps. They didn't remain ahead though, within 1 lap both spun off in Villeneuve, dropping to the last places. In lap 11 Noack made a mistake as well, he too dropped to the end of the field. Laad followed soon after, the laps before he already lost some places, struggling with a heavier fueled car.
The two-stoppers opened the pitstops, Martins and Kederer took the top spots, both going for a one stopper. Hunsley dropped to 3rd, followed by another 1-stopper in Goddard. Behind him were Said, Mishra, Utzer, Rinneaho and Lintner. Halfway point of the race was reached, and still all cars were running. That would change soon though. In the next 10 laps Black retired with an engine failure, Rinneaho suffered a gearbox failure, Noack and Brugman retired with water and oil leaks respectively.
In the meantime the 1 stoppers had pitted, handing the lead back to Hunsley. Said was in second some 10 seconds behind, Martins now in 3rd with a 18 second gap. Behind him followed Utzer, Lintner, Kederer, Buurlage, Laskey and Goddard. Kederer dropped out of the points after a mistake, before retiring with an engine failure. Laskey too shouldn't keep his points position, a gearbox failure ended his race.
When Hunsley came in for his final stop the gap to Martins was 20 seconds, which wasn't enough to stay ahead. The Renault driver regained the lead ahead of the Brit, with Said in 3rd. Goddard's one stop strategy had put him up to 4th, followed by Utzer, Lintner, Mishra and Buurlage. The order didn't change in the final laps, Hunsley could close the gap to Martins, but didn't find a place to get past.

FIA Press Conference
@Rui F. Martins: Congratulations on the win! How intense were the final laps, with Hunsley's McLaren always right at your back?
@Jack Hunsley: Happy about the first points for your new team, or gutted that you couldn't find a way past?
@Omer Said: Your first podium since your (2nd) comeback, will we see you up there more often in the upcoming races?
