Turn 10 Studios have deployed a new update to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC racing title Forza Motorsport 7, bringing to the game a number of useful fixes and improvements.


Following the recent 'Letter to the Community' released by Turn 10 last week, where the studio addressed a number of the bigger concerns around the way the latest Forza title has been structured and its tendency to offer below par performance under certain circumstances, the developers have been keen to press ahead with improving the title and getting a head start against some seriously tough opposition in the form of the upcoming GT Sport, and the recently released Project CARS 2 software.

Update Changelog
  • Fixed an issue where tracks would disappear after a player uses repeated rewinds in a race.
  • Fixed an issue where some players’ Forza Rewards gifts were not saving properly after they were initially revealed in the game.
  • We’ve addressed a game exploit whereby players could use Forza Edition cars to gain unrealistic leveling and rewards. In the interest of maintaining game balance, we have instituted rewards changes for all Forza Edition cars, replacing flat XP secondary rewards with a percentage-based credit (CR) reward. With this update, all Forza Edition cars will offer a primary percentage CR reward and a secondary conditional percentage CR reward. All VIP Forza Edition cars will now offer a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary conditional +50% CR reward. For example, the 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Forza Edition previously offered a primary CR reward of +25% and a secondary flat +5,000 XP award after 3 good drifts in a race. With this update, the Silvia now offers a primary reward of +25% CR and a secondary reward of +25% CR after 3 good drifts in a race. As a further example, the 2014 BMW M4 Coupe Forza Edition (a VIP FE car) previously offered a primary +40% CR reward and a secondary flat +10,000 XP reward at the Nürburgring. With the update, the BMW now offers a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary +50% CR reward at the Nürburgring.
  • Addressed an issue where the game would crash during Driver Level Rewards screen, causing extra level-up rewards to be available.
  • PC and Multiplayer stability fixes

Forza Motorsport 7 is available for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

im actually quite enjoying this game. Its not a sim of course, but we all knew that. The production quality is excellent. And this game runs fantastic on my main rig and my 1060 gaming laptop. This is probably the best optimized game ive played in a while. Once a few issues get ironed out this game will be even better. And so far it seems like the devs will be updating this frequently.
 
Bought the PC game to play with my friends on Xbox. Definetely an upgrade over Forza 6 overall in term of FFB / Physics, id say less frustrating in fact while not sim, it is enjoyable. But on my computer i'm having horrible stability issues, lots of crash mostly in the upgrades menus. It seems to be a widespread complaint on PC, unfortunately, this upgrade is almost crashing more now :/

Also was a pain to fix the wi-fi ping issues created by the mandatory Win10 creators update to install this game.

This is the only game I have that is crashing, at all. Considering the price of this game, this is quite a disappointment. Hope Turn10 get their **** together.

Wake me up when they remove the superfluous tire stacks, only then will I tell you how it stacks up. :mad:
That's a huge pet peeve. But it's one of a million things that scream "we hate SIM racing." F1 Stars (that still around?) probably has better physics.

What I don't get is why they screwed up basic things like crashes to dash and multiplayer bugs. Before, these were virtually unheard of. In fact, Turn 10 could always say "sure we suck, but we are the prettiest and most stable game on the console, bar none." Now, they can only say the first. Maybe they sold off the servers and went with typical P2P on the console? That would be about any corporation's speed.
 
Can anyone, please, tell me how leaderboards work in this game? Is there a leaderboard for every track/car combo? Am I able to rival anyone on the leaderboard? Thanks.
There is a leaderboard for every track/division combo. There is also a leaderboard for any division per track. It seems to me that you can't rival anyone anymore. The Rivals are limited to the options offered weekly by Turn 10. But you can post a time in any leaderboard by driving a quick race alone, for example.
 
After I heard of this loot crate BS, I stayed far away. Unfortunately, this will be the norm in the future. They are taking "free to play" mechanics and putting it in 60+ dollar games. Thanks to the gamers who end up buying in game stuff, the 10% that do, offset the many that stay away. Like any business, lowest common denominator. That's why Benz/BMW's today for example are very unreliable, because they cater to the lowest for more sales/profits who mostly lease, just like the gamers who pay to "earn"
 
I've played the game for more than 20hrs, got one crate with in game currency, nothing special and moved on.

You can play the game without looking at the loot crates, unless you want 100% of the in game items - I don't care for the logos and outfits, only the cars. So unless I cannot get all of the cars that I fancy - I might get peeved. Right now I have around 100 cars, most earned by racing, some bought with in game currency - earned with racing - and some dlc. The loot crate car - legendary crate - was a 200k car.

Much ado about nothing.

FM7 does not force you to grind for progress, unless racing is grinding.

The game is pretty stable on my rig. The first version had some CTD and freezes, latest version single freeze in paintshop. The game has not been out very long, I can live with the current state without getting hysterical. Stability on XBOX consoles is easier to achieve than on the PC platform - apples and oranges.

If you think that a game with a zillion cars will have a zillion different sounds etc you are naive, of course the game is packed tight with reused components - sounds etc.

Right now I am really enjoing Pcars 2 as the more sim oriented new racer, but FM7 fits that niche where there is more than enough sim to create an enjoyable simcade experience.

Of course emphasizing the negative will make most games look bad, I started being disappointed with Pcars2 and FM7, but now I like both.

To make myself completely unacceptable here, after getting into Pcars2 and doing some laps again in Assetto I found the latter feeling not as great as it once did.
