Here is how I think the safety car start rules should read.

1- The lead car is the safety car, controlling the speed & should circulate at a safe constant speed (between 100 & 150km/h)
2- Lead car controls the restart and may start accelerating once he starts crossing grid positions on track.
3- Cars must not pass before they have crossed the start/finish line
4- if a car spins off the track on the safety car lap then do not stop to let him rejoin.
This lap is officially part of the race so if you spin then you must treat it like any other lap. You rejoin the track only when it is safe to do so & continue in the position in which you rejoin.
5-Most incidents between you & the car in front will result in the driver behind being held responsible, so if you are in front try to keep an eye on your mirrors. If you are behind watch intently to see when cars ahead are braking.

Edit: Added... Do not accelerate until the car in front of you does.

I wanted to comment the starting in British GP last Saturday.
Because of the big crash at the first start we had a flying start. Steve you did your job really good. The whole starting field was very closed at start, but I missed the chance to overtake.

I used to race karts so I am familiar with the rolling starts. Only, as you say, there are lights at the kart track that tell you when to go.
 
May I suggest adding a rule?
Don't start moving before the car ahead (eg. number 7 if you are number 8) does.

We have only had one formation lap in the Euro division. That was last season and we learned the hard way that we needed the above rule.
 
The recent problems with the prestogp updater have now hopefully been solved (I hope).

Make sure you have inserted correct folder locations. Mine are:

Custom Skin folder location:
C:\Users\Nicolai\Documents\simbin\race 07\CustomSkins\

Race07 folder location:
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\remiskinkerytter\race 07\
 
RaceRoom mod

Hello!

In free game RaceRoom is very interesting mod, on technical characteristics very similar on modern F1. This mod it is not necessary to convert, RaceRoom it Race, it is necessary to add possibility of options only. For the specialist it isn't difficult.
I want to hear your opinion. Whether it is possible to use this mod in a following season?

I downloaded and tried it out a while ago and it seemed a bit unrealistic to me, too much power and grip. Also the RaceRoom format which is seperate from steam doesn't allow racing or setup tuning, the good thing is that now we are getting it on steam for free very soon and we'll be able to get a better idea for what it's really made of

My idea was to show you a link of the flying starts in karting. It is also less risky to crash in this formation but you can still overtake.
Everybody has to drive there very slow in the same formation until the lights go off. I know that it doesnt work in game but my idea was to handle it with the polesetter. He can accelerate when he passes the starting line and with him the whole field.
(I dont want to say that I want flying starts every race.. normally i like standing starts much more but I would like in a dangerous situation like in British GP with a dangerous first corner.)

+1 Stas,good suggestion! can be 2-3 test race that would better understand this mod!
Would like to hear this branch forum administrators.
 
Guys just wait a little bit longer because Simbin will release some new expantions for there Race series which will inclue the Formula RR. (why did they make a patch where 7th gear was included? wouldn't be all for nothing, would it.)
 
The f1 mod we are using now is not 100% perfect, so if a better alternative comes along we will consider that.

I do not have too much time to look at other options during the season, that's why I am a bit silent in this discussion atm :)
