Problem creating new Live Account

I bought Colin Mcrae Dirt 2 and activated it through Steam.
The game loads normally but then it asks me to create a account so I can also go online and save my game.
So I chose "create new account" and activated it.
Then I chose "use existing Live Profile" and entered the e-mail address and password, entered the key and then it says: "loading profile" and then I get an error message: 0x80151906
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Which OS are you using Peter?

The current version of Games for Windows Live has issues with XP64 and possibly Vista 64 and Win7 64.

I use Xp 32 bit version with Service Pack 3.

Also re-installing the game was of no use.

Yep, I live a few miles north (Portland Oregon) and travel to SF pretty regularly. I could pick it up.

It does work offline, but I can't save the game (that's what it said if I chose to not load a windows live account)
But I want it to work online as well off course.
I have googled the error message, but I could not find any solution.
It seems though, that I am not the only one that has this problem.

Try update the live software, i think you can do it via. win update...

I think Windows updates automatically so that should not be a problem.

That's the name in my programs list.
Reinstall then.

When I reinstall it asks for a hotfix for XP.
When I try to execute it, it says it is in another language as the system.

It is because the hotfix is only needed for XP not for Win7.
And when I look around on the internet I am not the only one that has this problem.
