Seemingly coming out of nowhere, Kunos Simulazioni have confirmed the highly anticipated Ferrari 70th Anniversary Assetto Corsa DLC is on its way, releasing this September 19th!

Created to mark the 70th anniversary of the Ferrari brand, the new Assetto Corsa DLC offering will contain some of the most iconic road and racing machines produced by the legendary marque, including plenty of historic content and the 2017 specification Formula One car that currently sits second in the Formula One World Drivers Championship.

As a reminder you can check out the Ferrari Celebration Pack DLC contents below:
  • 1962 250 GTO
  • 1967 330 P4
  • 1967 312/67
  • 1984 288 GTO
  • 2004 F2004
  • 2017 812 Superfast
  • Ferrari SF70H 2017 F1 Car

With Kunos having confirmed the new DLC is just seven days away from a public release on PC (Xbox One and PS4 to follow at a later date), the Italian development team have released a nice new trailer for one of the most spectacular cars included in the pack, the stunning 1962 issue Ferrari 250 GTO, which can be viewed below:

Introducing the Ferrari 250 GTO... The 250 GTO model was the pinnacle of the development of the 250 GT series in competition form, whilst still remaining a road car. It made its public debut at the annual pre-season Ferrari press conference in January 1962, and was the only front-engined model on display, with its monoposto and sports racing counterparts all having a mid-engine configuration. The 250 GTO was the ultimate expression of the Ferrari 250 GT car. It was equally at home on the road or track – perhaps the last dual purpose road/race car produced – and has achieved legendary status amongst aficionados of the marque. With only a relatively small production run of thirty-six cars, and with many of the examples produced having a great racing pedigree, it has become one of the icons of Ferrari's production history, with a revered position in collectors' circles.

Assetto Corsa is a racing simulation from Kunos Simulazioni available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Curious... Am sure this has been asked before so apologies: Is the F2004 a Kunos car or did the buy in the (excellent) ASR version? If it's their own one, it will be interesting to see how they compare. Also will be interesting to see how SF70H compares to RSS Formula Hybrid. I have a thought which will be best on both counts - if I'm correct this pack won't be getting much use by me lol ;)

I personally voted for the 488GTE as the 488GT3 doesn't quite cut it against the 2017 911 RSR, but there are a lot of other cars in the vote that would have been better than the SF70H as we already have an excellent 2017 spec car for AC :D

Going to be a good few days for me. Flying out to meet our illustrious leader tomorrow afternoon for an RD brainstorming session, driving together over to the Expo at Nords for the weekend then coming back and having a night on a party boat in Amsterdam on Monday. Return home Tuesday evening, download new AC DLC, play until hearts content then buy PCARS 2 and check that out. Perfecto.

Oh and British GT season closing racing at Donington Park at the end of the month too.. awesome!

Now if I could find a way to remove pesky work and family commitments out of the equation too, I would be a very happy boy..

I'm not touchy, you were just using the worst possible image as it shows a replica from the 70s, which we had the opportunity to study a lot more than we had intended, because we fell into the same trap, as unfortunately it's one of the better documented cars out there.

Anyhoo, this is a car where each was uniquely built so unless you compare it to the exact model we based it on, you'll always find something off (even proportions).

Hand built cars are not always alike , like you say , lights just looked strange thats all man

I still can't believe people voted for another F1 car.
Lol, why tho? Having a current car (which is still competing, the season is not over) is a great asset for Assetto Corsa. Plus this is the Ferrari F1 car in years that is in with a fighting chance at the (drivers) championship, plus its the first of the new, wider, faster new era (and last before they were tamed by the dreaded halo...).

So yeah, why did the community vote for the most popular car? The one that will sell more copies, the one that will fund future, perhaps more to your liking content in future? Silly voters

I knew there was no way in hell the car I actually wanted would win, so instead I just voted for the SF70
As for the one I did want? Made it myself :p

2004 was one of the last seasons F1 was semi-watchable, so I'll be glad to have a car from that season.

One main reason the GT3s are so popular is because they're easy to drive. The '04 F1 cars had TC, and their cornering speeds were slower because of the grooved tires. So maybe they'll catch on too.

How was having a dominant team with a contracted number 1 driver the last of the "semi-watchable"? Why not the years following it, where they had teams and teammates battling it out? Sure 14-16 and a couple of the RB days were snoozes, but this year and many other since 2004 have been great!

Note that I used the phrase semi-watchable.

And from a tech standpoint: They had V10s and no DRS/hybrid gimmick.

Luckily, you're from Scotland, otherwise I might have assumed you were one of those ominous Trump voters.
I'm sorry, that was rude, no offense, but choosing another car you didn't necessarily want because you knew you wouldn't get your favorite car isn't the right way.

I don't think Kunos has money problems. I would rather have night driving (don't get me wrong, night racing is possible in a simple way), Le Mans, Multi-Class Racing etc., especially because of the LMP cars. And I would pay with pleasure for this content.

Wow, that escalated quickly :roflmao:

Also, cheers for assuming that I didn't want the car I voted for - I do, just not as much as the 550 Maranello. Its just called using my brain, I knew it would have been a wasted vote (got a percent or two in the end I think...), so I went for my next favourite option.
