You have to change the *.veh file in ...\ASRX\GameData\Vehicles\ARCA\Makes\...
There is a line "DefaultLivery="[xxx].dds"". Here you put the name for the *.dds skin-file.
Example: Chevy No. 88
...\ASRX\GameData\Vehicles\ARCA\Makes\Chevy\88
There is a "chevy88.dds" and a "chevy88.veh"
Original chevy88.veh: DefaultLivery="88.dds"
Either you change this entry to "DefaultLivery="chevy88.dds" or you rename the chevy88.dds to 88.dds.
