Reiza Studios have revealed the future development plans for Automobilista 2 in their latest 'Development Roadmap' posting.

As many of you will already know, the full 'version 1' build of the much anticipated Automobilista 2 is set to release this March 2020. For those of us who backed the original Reiza Simracing Bonanza crowdfunding campaign above level 5, or purchased one of the many early access packs for the simulation - this Friday 28th will mark our first opportunity to lay hands on the new racing simulation from Reiza Studios.

With plenty of hunger from the community to learn more about what's in store both short and long term for the new title, Reiza Studios have released their latest roadmap posting giving gamers plenty of ideas about what we have to look forward to in the months ahead:

....

So it´s finally there! AMS2 Beta has now been released to Backers as we enter the final month of development before Automobilista 2 is officially release on March 31st - we are very excited to be able to share what we have been working on all this time
:)

In this final stretch we can finally begin sharing a little more not only about what the plans are for release, but also going forward - let´s get to it.

Beta Available - Proceed With Caution
So the first build of AMS2 Beta has been deployed - always a big satisfaction and relief to reach this milestone.

Although the gameplay, content and general functionality of the Beta builds should be pretty representative of what its release state will be like, the game is very evidently unfinished - there is a lot still to be a lot bolted on over the coming weeks.

With the imminent release of AMS2 Beta we´ve had a huge influx of new people through the AMS2 Early Backing Campaign over the past couple of weeks. While it´s great to see the interest in AMS2 - and the revenue boost this late in development is by no means unwelcome - we do want to stress that this is still an unfinished Game: there are bugs, compatibility issues with certain hardware, missing features and other such rough edges still to be ironed out. If you are looking for a seamless user experience we strongly recommend you hold out until March 31st when the game will be officially released.

Automobilista 2 FAQ
There's been a lot of questions posed over AMS2 development and we are finally at a point we feel we can offer reliable answers - check our AMS2 FAQ here. More will be added in the coming days.

Cars & Tracks - What's In So Far
Looking to give a bit more insight into the game and what it will feature, we have started this All Cars & Tracks topic showing all the content featuring in the current build of the game.

Please observe that the artwork illustrates cars and tracks which are present in the game now - not what there will be on release and beyond. We will continue to update it as we progress through the next BETA builds and continue on from release onwards.

Development Roadmap - To Release ad Beyond
As we´ve been regularly stressing in these dev updates, AMS2 is a long term project - the release next month will see development pick up even more pace as we enter and aggressive development plan that will see game updates along with new cars and tracks released in a monthly basis.

To give you all a glimpse of how things are going to pan out, here is what´s on store for the first 3 months following release:

AMS2 Roadmap.jpg

Upon release we hope to be in position to expand our public roadmap to cover the initial 6 months - that´s when things get really interesting
:)

We will continue to provide this foresight at least until the end of 2020 so users can have an idea about whats coming and when.- with the obvious caveat that roadmaps aren´t set in stone and things can always move around or change slightly.

Early Backer Campaign Wraps February 29th.

AMS 2 Header.jpg

As previously announced, the AMS2 Early Backing Campaign will close tomorrow 23:59 GMT. You will still be able to buy the combo of AMS2 + AMS2 Beta + AMS2 Season Pass for US$ 119.99 through our forum store, but the discounts for old backers and other perks from the EBC will no longer be included.

Pricing for the base game on relase has been confirmed @ US$49.99, bumped vs previously suggested US$ 39.99 as considerable additional base game content has now been confirmed.

In order to keep it a bit more affordable for early buyers, we have decided to launch AMS2 with a 20% discount over the first week from release, so at least for a little while the pricing will be inside the original plan.

That´s all for this month - it´s been a thrilling (and exhausting!) ride to this point and we are happy to finally be able to share with you a little more about where we are going with AMS2 - exciting times ahead!

Funny that just in the moment of you criticizing the looks of the current's state of game, I've been doing some reworks to sky and lighting :)

Please let me be clear: I wasn't criticizing. Just stating I had hoped to see more with less than a month to go. In the same vein of the looks very early on, and then the delay (more hope :D).

Awesome to hear that on reworks! Just my hideous opinion, I hope we hear of workings and updates more frequently throughout the early stages of roll out. Not just in a monthly update. Even if its just a quick quib in a random forum post.

Keep in mind that things that you mention, don't require applying to each single track. I agree some work needs to be done on sky and also shader/rendering side, to suit our style of tracks. And some of the ideas we have about visuals still need implementing, but the heaviest amount of work has been done, so even if the shader or lighting/climate gets an update, usually that doesn't need reworking or re-exporting the tracks. So those final things are often left for the last, while can have a dramatic effect on overall picture.

Fantastic to hear, love it.

But also key thing here, is having a consistency in lighting. To have just one post process preset, that will work in all the conditions, so you don't have to manually adjust it.
I know there aint no modding happening, but things like PP's, does it have to be limited to one for everything? Or could there be an option for a user to choose that will still all work on the server/multiplayer side?

Keep on keepin' on!

Honestly, I find Pcars 1 looks better than 2 in some ways. The way the shaders works felt like there is a step back in pcars 2.

It is still a powerful engine. The issue is that Pcars was launched as a massive game with dozens of tracks, dozens of car type with a lot of massive class, a dynamic weather and track condition, and a complex physics model. It is difficult to get everything to work well when there are so many variables. A pcars game can only be good if it gets a very long term support cycle, like 4-5 years in my opinion.

Reiza is a smaller studio, I'm not surprised if they can't do as much marketing as SMS.
It was explained that the new features introduced in the engine required lower resolution textures. Indeed, road textures are far superior in pcars1. But while driving it''s not really noticeable (it is noticeable but you forget it in a few seconds). In replay, especially when the cam is far, road textures in pcars2 are bad.

Another thing is that the highly detailed textures of the roads in sims.are usually overdone in order to increase the sense of speed. These were indeed overdone in pcars1 (and more realistic in ACC for example).

Some of the issued carried through from pcars2 & pcars1 looking at this video.
I have no doubt Reiza will get this fully optimized over time.
I wish those 'information' pop-ups were not centered on screen but off to one side.
In the (inthebagbud) preview video I watched earlier, the AI took flight twice at Imola...when forced onto the curbing.
Has anybody else had that happen at any other circuits?
I don't yet have the title, so I can't test it.

Apropos windscreen wipers

It may have been written before, if so my apologies I have missed it, but they are available in the beta - however the animation is missing.

Also if you read carefully the roadmap screenshot shows Touring Car Pack blurred out.
I hope this is the new name for Copa Petrobras de marcas, which is actually my favorite Reiza car class - closely followed by the Stockcars. There are many more fine classes, just stating my preference.

There is a screenshot of a Truck, so Trucks are also in.

Only worried about the missing Porsche Cop “Boxer” class.

99$ for season pass sounds expensive, but it's 2 years of DLC content, and Renato said the several expansion packs will be like "games within a game", and thus priced accordingly.

As for the Beta, as GameMuscle already has published a video, I guess I'm allowed to say something... As my first impressions are exclusively positive, they won't harm the game :D (and are truthful opinions, no fanboyism here):

- FFB feels great. It's the AMS force feedback! What a relief. Nothing like pCars 2
- Same goes for physics. Feels familiar from AMS so far, haven't tested all cars though
- Graphics look stunning. The trees look very convincing, and they move in the wind, even when they are 2D
- All lighting conditions seem to look natural, compared to pCars 2 where it was very mixed bag
- Performance seems super slick. VR runs extremely well, compared to some (all?) competitors
- UI is intuitive and easy to navigate compared to AMS1
- Sound is similar or better than AMS1. None of those crappy pCars 2 sound traits to be heard
- Yes it's a beta, some features are missing. But it's very strong already

Basically, they took the only thing from pCars 2 that was good (visuals and VR), improved it, improved performance, trashed everything else and replaced with glorious Reiza physics. This sim will become popular..
Stop to bashing another game at the sametime it is not necessary.. it just show your weakness.

I loved AMS but only played it for 10 hours or so because I got into VR shortly after, so my hopes are high for this title. My biggest worries are the trees however - I found the flickering trees in PCars2 so bad/distracting/annoying that I stopped playing it all together. Can someone report about this in the current AMS2 build?

Edit: I am talking about flickering trees in VR only
Strange I do not have that problem in PC2 BUT I do in DR2?

Sorry for the dumb question - but where to download the Beta? I found various prices but can't see to find where to download it. Also, it seems to be over $100 - is this correct? Is there anywhere to download the game today in it's most basic form for a reasonable price? Many thanks

At the moment beta isn't available. When it's available price is $120 for new users and $100 for people that own AMS1 + all DLC. This price will include base game and DLC.

AMS2 brings me back to AMS1 :D
Hope there will be some future updates to ffb. Atm it's only all right to me. The bitter is, especially the ffb made the predecessor great.
Fine, maybe some more people finally find some appreciation and time for the first AMS, then :p

A beta release is quite expected, to not replace your whole sim portfolio and shouldn't, btw.

Have some faith in Reiza, guys.^^

Question guys:
I can not sign up at reiza forum. Always get a message that capcha is wrong, but come on, what can be wrong of „enter any letter in the word ´Reiza‘ or ´Brazil´ ? Reiza and Brazil alway gives me an error.
Am i the only one?

Again, this isn't saying whos best, that was someone else injecting that. Its AMS2 might take two years to even get to this point. They had the chance, but it was their decision to release something thats far from even being 90% complete.
I'm not discussing whos the best, I just referred a feature of each sim, AMS 1 has cripser images than AC and AC has much better lighting than AMS. That's all. On the other hand, when I choose a sim I just care about the concept and the "mechanical" feeling. I have no time to see if the tree is beautiful or if there is a wonderful sunset. It's ok, I like good graphics, but it's secondary. I don't see any detail out of the track, if I can do that it means I'm driving slow.

Do you guys reckon that the multiplayer of AM2 will be great like in ACC and Iracing or should I keep my expectation low regarding that?
Considering AMS was a niche game to begin with and the fact that they arnt bringing much new content to the table for this release I expect it to be the same. Pickup racing will be few and far between, league racing is your only bet.

Granted now that the game isn’t moddable public racing may be easier to do now.
