Accuforce V2 Pro

I just sold my Fanatec V1, V2.5 and a couple of rims for near cost of an Accuforce but have to wait a couple months.
Just wanted to know what to expect. It's my first DD.
Got a chuckle when I read there's a safe mode for friends.
Oh boy! What am I getting myself into? Lol!

Hello guys,

I have a V1 for 4 years now and I'm very happy with it ! It is strong and mostly good quality.
I only had to replace the PSU fan (the original one was a cheap crap, I replaced it with a noctua, much more silent). Maybe things have changed with V2...

Installing the hardware is easy but takes time as you have to install two things : the wheel motor and the PSU.

And of course you'll have to work a bit to master the software (simcommander) but it is a masterpiece ! And quite simple to manage once you know it. In every game I use it really changes everything !
There's an owner's page on FB where you also will find help :

Are there fans in the base like the Fanatec belt models? Or just in the PSU? I had all three, V1 to V2.5. And the fans were getting louder for each one.
How long are the cables for the PSU? Was just wondering if I could mount it on the outside of my sim cockpit.
Thanks for the insight guys! Much appreciated!
These 8 weeks are going to kill me!

No fans in the wheel motor, only in the PSU. On my V1, the PSU cable is around 1.70 m long, on the V2 it is 2 meters, read here : https://simxperience.com/products/accessories/accuforcesteering/accuforcepro.aspx

Not any more you don't.
It now has cloud based settings which works very well and is almost plug and play.

Oh!! That's good to hear!
I was thinking I'm going to wait 8 weeks for my wheel and then a couple weeks looking through all the forums to get it to work. That was one reason for asking about here now!
That's kinda what I was hoping for, getting a well established/older wheel!

Yes but in order to understand what makes what and to adapt the settings to personal taste, I think it is better to tweak at least a little. Some people who took setups from the shelf without understanding them have been deceived by their wheel.
Totally agree. Although I have never heard of anyone yet being deceived by their wheel whilst using these new cloud based settings (do you have any links please?).
Its always good to tinker, as it helps you know how things work.
There is no 'need' to do it with the cloud based settings, but you still can if you wish as they are a very good baseline to start with.

Congratulations! I think you’ll be very happy with your purchase - and it will take no time to get up and running. Customer support, if needed, is really helpful and quick.

The software is pretty powerful, and is worth messing with. It can really add to the level of feel and nuance if done right.

Downloading the cloud-based setups is cool - if for no other reason than as a comparison. This allows you to see what others have run for the same car/track, and where you might find some room for improvement (or not) for your own settings.

Let us know how you make out. Enjoy!

Thank you! That's reassuring! And I have nothing negative to say about Fanatec. Its basically me being cheap! Lol!
But, I did suffer through their growing pains with the V1 for sure. And, by the time the V2.5 came along, it was well tuned. So I wasn't looking forward to doing it again with their DD1! Lol!
Plus, the Pro V2 was just barely in my price range!
Also, I'm kind of interested to see how much more detail a DD really has over a belt drive!!
Thanks again guys!

Only negative I have to say about sim commander is that it likes to set the feedback strength at 95% which I, personally, think is way too strong. I generally run around 50% (plus or minus 10% depending on sim and car) and would struggle to race for more than 90 minutes.

Agreed. Not sure why it always defaults to 95%. And that is regardless of car, the way you drive during a lap etc.

What are you running in-game feedback at when you set it to 50% +/-?

100%, it feels better allowing all of a games ffb through then regulating it in sim commander as a universal setting for each game. If I then find a car that needs major changes I'll give it a separate button on the favourites screen.

I found the Escort RS1600 needed 40% strength but less smoothing so it now has it's own button.

That makes sense. I’ve been messing with backing into it a bit (Little more/less game intensity, little More/less SC4 intensity). I may give your method a shot and see where I end up.

One other piece of advice Accuforce owners should have; once you have a tuned profile you like, export it to a “Install & Drive” file (from the button/thumb of that profile). Save it in a folder, preferably on another hard drive. I’ve had updates hose all my profiles. You can get them back - but it ends up making duplicates which is a PITA. Easiest and cleanest way to retrieve them is if you had saved them as Install & Drive files. Unfortunately, I had not. Lesson learned.

One other question. It's something I've been assuming but should ask about.
Last year I burnt out my v2 Fanatec in iRacing, dirt oval.
Do I ever have to worry about burning out an Accuforce in dirt oval?
I would imagine is the most abusive on a wheel base? Being you're more or less holding it with as lot of torque in one place for the most part, for long periods of time.
